Not my preferred choice if it is indeed the Huskanator. But whatever. If he won the job, he won it.

Lol. The guy hasn't even stepped behind the bench yet and you're already writing him off as a failure? Good grief, get a grip.

None of the options are exciting. Huska doesn't really seem to be any better or worse than the guys who have recently been listed as potential hires.
I think the issues with this team are much deeper than a coaching hire so can't really get upset about whoever they go with because the new guy is walking into a mess that the team seems unwilling to fix.

If it’s not about money then I have no idea. Huska is easily the most questionable option of the candidates we know about. Just like Gulutzan, Playfair, and Ward, seems like a guy where you’re left saying “not thrilled, but let’s just hope management knows what they’re doing.” So far these underwhelming coaching decisions have played out about as well as you’d expect and the GM is not in fact the smartest guy in the room.

I don't care what any of you say, Huska has done nothing to deserve this opportunity other than his longevity. Results matter, part of the ongoing problem, owners cheapness showing.

Most glorious news!
I am 100 percent confident Ryan Huska is the man to lead the Flames to righteous victory for many years.

If it's Huska, feels like a letdown.

I'm curious about your experience with NHL coaches and your experience in hiring them to coach an NHL team. Clearly you know better than everyone.

I don’t get how it is owner cheapness, wouldn’t the cheap hire be Love or Tanguay?

I’m a bit surprised by people being sour on the idea of Huska as HC. If nothing else, it again - much like the Conroy hire, continues to show that the Flames believe in the momentum they’ve been building internally as an organization in the last decade. Things may not be great, but things are better than they were before that.
Huska may not have the “new toy” shine of Love, but he is a product of the same system - and Huska certainly didn’t have a Dustin Wolf when he was coaching in the AHL. I hope we don’t lose Love. Ideally, I’d like to see Love and Huska on the bench.
Coaching hires are tough things for fans to assess. We don’t know #%^*, generally speaking.

Just cause a decision was made doesn't mean it was the right one. You act like people with NHL experience never miss. Time will tell, but people can be underwhelmed.

I feel they should of cleaned house in the NHL coaching department. Especially if none of them could deal with a cranky farmer. Rinse and repeat.

.......or there was an extensive search and interview process and Conroy believes he's the best candidate to follow his vision and turn the team around?

I'll just be curious to see what a coach can do with this band of misfits. No excuses this season. Well, except for "another rookie nhl coach?".
