He went to CBJ to float with no pressure though...that is the lol
No he didn't.
He went to CBJ because it was the last good offer on the table after over playing his cards.
He has never had an issue playing hard and certainly isn't a floater.
Gaudreau aside, I don't get this for Babcock. CBJ isn't close to being a competitor; he'll be coaching a rebuild.
I guess he needs a path back into the league and has to take what he can now.

Never?
Floating all over the place, didn't even challenge Draisaitl.

Did you only watch him the game in Calgary last season?
He was a big time floater last year his coach even called out his defensive play in the media. 74 points and -33

He made the wrong play and took the point.
Stupid play yes, but I wouldn't say being a floater was ever his issue in Calgary.
He also scored a series winning goal that year, something a whopping 3 Flames have done in 33 years.
You probably think Tkachuk & Bennett are floaters too.
I was as pissed as anyone with how Gaudreau left, but this need to re write history for every former Flame is lame.

BS. You are absolutely wrong. So you think if the Flames offered Lindholm, pick #16, Coronato, and next year's 1st for #3 the Jackets say no? Of course they wouldn't. Would the Flames offer that? Almost certainly not but saying there is "literally zero chance" the two teams can't come to an agreement where Lindholm and other assets go to the Jackets for #3 is BS.

If Columbus are smart they say no. Even if they are dumb they likely say no.

You kind of proved his point though we aren't going to offer that package.
The reason I can see it happening is for some reason they seem desperate to compete after finishing at the bottom of the league.

I didn't say anything about Tkachuk or Bennett. Kind of presumptuous. Nor am I rewriting history. Watch the video and see if he's floating or not.
Hanifin goes to retrieve the shoot in and chips it up the boards to where the winger is supposed to be to get it out. Except he realizes it's Gaudreau who isn't going to participate in any board play and has to go deal with Draisaitl himself. Too late and the Flames lose the series.

Which confirms what we all knew, that you know the square root of F all about values in hockey. Basically the value of 4 1sts and the Jackets say no? Lmao, you're funny.

Not really though because I was using that as an exaggeration to show nothing is literally zero chance. The biggest moron GM ever wouldn't turn that down (apparently not by one on this board). A deal can be made, it just depends on the price. We have no idea if the 3rd overall pick is play so saying their is literally zero chance is inaccurate.

Its not the value of 4 1sts though and even if it was 4 1sts isn't worth the 3rd overall pick this year. Again there is a reason teams don't trade these top picks very often. The value they bring in a cap world making them very valuable.
Columbus makes that deal and they are no further along in terms of winning the Cup. It makes no sense at all for them to make that move.

Wrong again. Lindholm's value is a 1st+. Coronato was a 1st rnd pick and his value is such now. The other two are literally current 1st rnd picks. That deal absolutely makes the Jackets a much better team than just picking at 3. Thanks for proving my point though, you are absolutely clueless on values. The Jackets would jump on that so fast and Conroy would be run out of town, Conroy would never offer that though because that is beyond a ridiculous overpayment, it was used as an exaggeration to show nothing is zero chance and you think it's bad for Columbus? Oh boy! Lol

Babcock took a stacked team to a cup. Once. Bowman took a stacked team to 5 cups. Then he took another one to a cup. Then he took another one to three cups. Plus he took the expansion Blues to 3 cup finals right off the bat at the start of his career.
Babcock has the same amount of cups as Terry Crisp and Bob Hartley. In somewhat similar circumstances. I’m not sure his Olympic win is the sign of a great coach, though his input on team makeup was important I guess.
I think it is very debatable whether you could get a first round pick at this point for Coronato. Doesn't mean that he is a bust or terrible.
And as I said I am not sure 4 1sts is good value for the 3rd overall pick in this draft.
You said Columbus would be stupid to do that deal, your words. You really think it's debatable the Flames could not get a 1st rnd pick for Coronato? He was a 1st the puck and he has only excelled since, coming off an excellent World's. How has his value fallen?

I think that Olympic win was the most impressive considering he got them to buy into that defensive style of play to win.

First, he wasn't excellent at the World's, he was fine and he hasn't excelled either he has been good, no need to exaggerate.
Yes Columbus would be stupid to make that deal. The 3rd overall pick, especially in this draft has incredible value. This isn't a Flames things, this isn't criticizing the pieces that would be coming from the Flames it is a comment on how valuable top picks are, especially in a year with such high top end talent in a draft.
