Not likely that the will stay at the top in terms of beer prices when the new arena is completed. In terms of proximity for transit and restaurants, it should be a lot better. I did no expect the Islanders to be so low in the rankings considering they just opened up that arena.

Those numbers are a complete mess. 18 minutes to public transit? I could walk to City Hall or Erlton in less time than that and neither of those is the closest station. Even 12 minutes to the nearest restaurant seems way too high.

The closest restaurant to the Dome isn't that far either, if you care to eat in one of the Casino restaurants.

Yeah. I think that was a little much as well. Doing the google maps, it looks like they went from City Hall station instead of Vic Park. I guess that makes a bit of sense since not everyone will be coming in on the red line.

Cheapest beer hey?
Whatever the walk time is from the Saddledome to Victoria Park, it is unacceptable and a total joke.

Are you serious? It's 5 minutes. It's the same as most stadiums that aren't built over a train station.

Was just in Vegas and was talking to some locals about the A’s and where the new ballpark is supposed to go. Seems the new owner has a deal to take over the Tropicana and bulldoze it. Locals thought it was all going to be private investment. Turns out the deal includes $500M in taxpayer money and tax breaks. That’s half a billion dollars they are likely on the hook for.

The tropicana is an eyesore so that part makes sense.

I hope they consider heated indoor parking or underground parking if that's possible from a construction standpoint.
last season i was stuck outside 10minutes in -30 because i couldn't get up my ramp due to 8" of snow on the un-shoveled outdoor parkade, pretty dangerous, actually. Sure would be nice to park in a warm area and go through a set of doors or elevators and you're in, I think would bring mire people in.
at ice level has always been a dream of mine but there's no way they ever do that.

12 minutes to a restaurant? Maybe if you're hammered from all the cheap beer. Even if you ignore the casino, Cardinale is a 7 minute walk, according to google

For the general public? I'm sure it's possible but no hope in hell it will happen.
They may have had a good chuckle and moved on, if someone actually brought it up.

There's an attached parkade on the plans, but there won't likely be that many spots. On the previous design, there was only going to be 192 stalls in the parkade. Whatever the new design is, it will likely be similar.

I feel like a swim up blackjack table has even more urine content than a swim up bar.
But anyway it's just never been a profitable location for a Vegas casino hotel. It's been through so many ownership changes I can't even think of them all, and owners already went bankrupt once in 2008 or so.
The only amenity I can think of that attracts people there is the Laugh Factory. I saw Lovitz there a year or so ago.

Let's be honest, the heated parking is going to be for players, executives and staff, perhaps a few spots for VIP's and guests.
One of the biggest downsides to Calgary's current setup is that players always need to park in the back of the building and leave in a cold car. They might have a valet that starts and brushes off your car of snow/ice etc but it's not the same thing as a car at a nice temp.

They have their own underground parking (or did on the previous design, and there's no reason to think that will change). The above ground parkade will likely be for suite holders and the club seats.

in this climate I don't understand why in a modern billion dollar arena that they wouldn't have underground parking like a mall for example.

I don't want to bring politics into this, but I guess with the UCP winning, this thing is 100% a go now? Or are there still things that need to go right before shovels hit the ground?
