Danielle Smith: Special relationship with Artur Pawlowski, criminal who threatened to hunt down LGBTQ2S+ folks.
Danielle Smith: Follows an extremist conservative person on Twitter that publicly threatens violence against NDP supporters.
Danielle Smith: listens to quacks, extremists and trolls about COVID, vaccines, convoys, climate, and everything else that hits the public eye.
Danielle Smith: "I talk to and listen to everybody".
Now imagine who she talks and listens to behind the scenes, or without being publicly exposed.

Have not heard that, but we have a few that are delayed due to the fire situation.

And they will likely never hit those levels again. The industry lost a lot of capacity due to rust out, personnel shortages, and moving rigs to the US. None of that is changing any time soon.

I got one project on hold for the election, others delayed from the fires.
The rigs that moved will never come back, there is too much work in the states to consider Alberta again. I'd imagine stricter regulations are coming if we look to hit the net-zero by 2035 plan, which might stymy some prospective projects as well.

Basing "projects" on 4 year election cycles should be viewed as business owners using coercion on their employees to vote a certain way. Things must be pretty mickey mouse if the project isn't economical based on unquantifiable provincial politics.

Never heard of EnergiMedia but it appears to be a small, user funded org. Some decent summaries of Notley's time in office and with PNG file

Pretty marginal projects if a provincial election swings the investment decision.

I'm heading off to vote in a few minutes.
Time to do my part to try and get rid of the UCP.

I'd like to stop and vote on my way home. If I'm voting early (and at a separate location than that of election day), do I need my voting card I received in the mail or will just my drivers license do?

For primarily Alberta based companies you would be correct. You know this already, but it makes sense if you have a huge portfolio of drilling opportunities (Of which the economics are determined on a timeline measured in months) that spans many jurisdictions in Canada, US, and internationally that you have to optimize spend across the organization it, could make a difference on the margin who wins next week.

Drivers license is good. I went this morning, they just scanned my ID, printed off a ballot and I was good to go.

From hells heart I stab at thee!
Just voted NDP in Jason Nixon's riding. There no way in hell a deplorable won't get elected here, but that's also not the point.

Came in for the latest election news and left realizing that a hand full of CPers work for what apparently are a hand full of the shiftiest companies in Alberta.

Rachel Notley the most oil and gas-friendly premier since Peter Lougheed?

Contrary to claims that the NDP tried to “kill” the oil and gas industry, Notley brought a commonsense, pragmatic approach to policy-making that was frequently praised by the industry. She governed through some of the most difficult economic circumstances in modern Alberta history. At the same time, she pulled off major victories for the sector, like getting the federal government to approve the Trans Mountain Expansion and Line 3 pipelines. And she did it while implementing what was, at the time, considered to be one of the most progressive climate policies in North America.
Notley is arguably the most consequential premier for the oil and gas industry since Peter Lougheed in the 1970s and 1980s.....
|
Remember the people who are saying "but the economy" or "but the energy industry" this week are not dealing in facts, they are dealing in feelings, and all of us Albertans are likely to be worse off 3-4 years from now because of it.

It’s a real gear grinder that the ANDP are not shouting these accolades from the rooftops at every opportunity. Are they afraid to win?
