Pressers are the thing I expected Conroy to be good at. Am hoping he'll prove himself in all other respects as well. Time will tell.

Kadri worked his balls off for the Avs it was obviously a coach issue

IMO, there's going to be a purge at the draft. How they build out through the trades Craig is going to make will be fascinating. I'm excited. He knows what we want because he wants it.
His lamentation about the Gaudreau situation won me over full stop. If you're a pending FA, you new deadline to get something done is now the trade deadline. Figure it out. Frickin love that.

Yet 95% of the people on this site would have lost their ####. It was 110% the right call to monetize at that time. I posted that same thing in January of that year and had my head bitten off by the usual suspects on here.
You got NO value for Gaudreau. Crazy.

Taking a while to get to 5000

My understanding is that Kadri's hand was still messed up or potentially re-injured towards the end of the year which would make sense

Going to take a lot of work to move that contract but I know I would rather have lindy every day in every situation in every area of the game over Kadri.
Easier said then done.

Hopefully we keep the better player and I am sure Conroy sees the value in that.

No not at all. That’s why we should have traded him at the deadline the year he was a pending UFA.

I would be okay with that because we wouldn’t have Huberdeau and his 10.5x8 kicking in. The Flames could have targeted Necas+ and wouldn’t have signed Kadri and his cap hit either more than likely.

Hindsight is 20/20.
The organization thought it was a matter of getting the dollar right which clearly shifted at some point to something more personal.

Sarcasm? Kadri's effort is a Kadri issue, 100%.

But depth down the middle is so incredibly difficult to achieve.

Conroy was a breath of fresh air in that presser on several levels. Personality, humour, honesty, but especially his views about youth and not letting UFAs walk without anything to show for it.

Salary cap, the way Conny went on about how important Lindholm is to the team long term. If Lindy stays, you simply cannot have two 7m plus long term deals with how tight things are for the next two years.

Kardi won the cup a year ago, on the back of hard work. He was the only one showing up early in the season and let off. Lazy, tired, who knows. In terms of hard work I'm not worried about him long term.

I'll be honest, I was very much hoping we would get someone outside of the organization to come in since it seemed like there was so much dysfunction in the FO. So when Conroy was brought up as a front runner I was disappointed.
BUT after listening to Conroy, I love the decision they made to bring him on as GM!!! Very excited for the future of this team, and seems like we are all in for a big (and much needed) change this summer

Really happy for Conroy.
Love everything I heard also.
Craig has paid all his dues, it's his turn to take the reigns and reignite the franchise.
LFG!!!
