We should censor their unacceptable views that are different than yours.
This whole thing is getting pathetic.

Man it sure is inconvenient for Smith that she brought up Hitler and now people are putting Smith and Hitler in the same sentences, including newspaper headlines!
That's pretty unfair, associating Smith and Hitler just because she brought up Hitler.

Are you suggesting their proximity might form some sort of portmanteau, along the lines of something like Smitler? I'm rather fond of Little Smitler.

Censoring inappropriate views would be a refreshing change.

Were they behind the scenes on her radio show telling her what to say? What about when she said if you get cancer it's basically your fault? Did they help her write that paper 10 years ago about how smoking is beneficial? Comparing vaccinated people to followers of Hitler? The list goes on.
|
During her radio days with QR77, her boss Jon Voss would monitor her shows on a daily basis. When she went off the rails on Covid and listeners complained, he gave her a letter of reprimand with instructions that all future shows and guests had to be pre approved by him. She didn't like that and quit her radio show

If she's got people behind the scenes telling her what to do, and she's ignoring that they are awful things to do and say, then that makes her just as awful as the people behind the scenes. If she's unaware of how harmful these things are, then she's an idiot. There's no away around it.
|
She's power hungry and wants the Premiership in the worst way.

Yeah I know you've said that about her, and you've made your voting intentions clear. I appreciate that you can change your vote based on information because that's more than most can say, but you keep posting things that excuse her. Saying someone is pulling the strings behind the scenes is giving her an out.

Being "not selfish" doesn't make me anything close to a great person. That's like the bare minimum baseline for being a merely decent member of society.

I would argue that it's not an out but rather the reality within the UCP party. She once said that the only way she would return to politics was if she was given a chance to save the UCP party and clean up the corruption. She wanted it bad.
That of course does not excuse her from the things she has said or done. That's on Smith and nobody else.

You guys are selling yourself short. People are selfish, I see it everyday. and they are even more selfish by the way they vote since that's how they think they make a difference. Just go to any parent school meeting.
Anyways, back to the point I was making, people will vote on single issues that benefit them, and some of those benefits, rightly or wrongly, come from UCP.

As am I, and almost all my friends are as well. They work in O+G, to real estate, to medicine, all the way to film. I don't actually know one person that would vote for UCP anymore, except for various Boomer family members.

How long until Smith threatens to sue the Calgary Herald?
Remember when she threatened the CBC with defamation? Whatever happened to that lawsuit Yoho?

Oh I know lots. Most of my Calgary friends aren't those people, but there are some. My friends from up North though, all in on UCP, because Oil.
The worst part is I know these people aren't in favour of almost anything the UCP stands for, but they think they are.
