IDGAF, doesn’t seem to matter much.

No to Huska, he's too much of a yes man. The guy didn't really go to bat for any of the young guys he coached in the AHL, specifically Kylington which we almost lost for nothing.

My worry with Brunette is how Florida shook out.

Quenville let go ... Brunette follows the same game plan. They do well. They don't bring him back.

Seems like the Quenville system may have been the success path, and Brunette was just painting by numbers?

Can you edit the poll to add this guy?

Reggie Dunlop, the Flames new player-coach. They kill two birds with one stone! I'm thinking the Flames do a sign and trade with Lucic for him. The Chiefs should like a guy like Lucic.

Bruce was given a very unfair hand in Van. He was put in a terrible position, as he was stuck between ownership and Rutherford. That room was dealing with Horvat vs Miller, the circus that was Horvat's future, and was only given one top 4 defenseman to utilize.

His consistency in Washington and Minnesota shouldn't be forgotten.

I thought at the time that if the Flames were going to keep Sutter, a situation might arise where Iginla joined as an assistant the following year (Sutter's last year), then took over after when Sutter's contract is up. Now that we are hiring a new coach, we'd be looking at a longer time frame.

If Iginla was interested, I am not sure if rushing him would be a good idea, but from just a fan perspective, who wouldn't want to see that one day.

Personally. I’d love to see it.

I don’t think the guy in Montreal is doing a bad job.

Love, because he WILL play Wolf and Pelletier this coming season, and possibly Coronato and Zary later in the season. And who knows, maybe Phillips will stay if Love is the HC, and would be more likely to succeed playing for a coach who knows him and who has been able to coach him to success.

Yes, this! I really want to see what Phillips can do when give a fair chance instead of losing him for nothing and have to watch him succeed in another team.

I like the idea of Mitch Love, but with a team full of veterans, having a coach who has never coached NHL veterans is concerning for me.

Huska makes a little more sense to me if they want an internal hire.

I voted Huska. The more likely outcome to me is that Huska gets the top job and Mitch is brought in on his flank, rather than the organization leapfrogging Love right to the HC position in the NHL. Huska will have the stink of this past season on him for some people but the team will, rightfully, assess him on his own merits and the likelihood that he’ll work well with the players if he ends up being considered for the job. It’s tempting for fans to want a Stalin-like purge after a disappointing campaign, but I just don’t think that’s how you want to run your affairs.

If much of what we’ve been hearing is true, Huska’s probably right at the top of the list of people who are happy to be freed from the weight of Sutter’s jackboot.

Hard to vote until I know who gm is. He should get his pick. If gm is outside organization he might have ties to someone he wants as coach.

I don't see anyone as a great choice and if we are refusing to give up the get 8th and pray model we have seen for years then the coach really doesn't matter as we will see no success under anyone so I went with nobody.

I think if pressed I would say Boudreau. He seems like a great guys and his teams seem to play entertaining hockey. I don't think he would have a shot in hell at doing anything with these players so it would seem like a bit of a waste of time bringing him in.

I have little to no respect for the AHL and am never a fan of just bringing in the next guy up in the organization, especially with how bad the organization has been lately, so I have no interest in Mitch Love. Maybe he is the next Jon Cooper but he doesn't seem like a guy who would be appealing if it weren't for the emotional part of him having success with our players in the AHL.

Huska and Muller are non-starters for me and would be awful hires unless we are looking for guys to eat losses while we begin a rebuild. Brunette likewise I have zero interest in at all, unless again it is to eat losses at the start of a rebuild before brining in the guy we really want in two years.

I don't rate success at the AHL level as impressive as I know many others do.

Warsofsky is on the fast track to becoming an NHL head coach. He's only 35 years old, but Warsofsky was considered a finalist for the Sharks' head coaching job in the 2022 offseason. San Jose chose David Quinn instead, but Quinn brought him onto his staff as an assistant.

In 2021-22, Warsofsky became the youngest head coach since Laviolette in 1999 to win an AHL championship, leading the Chicago Wolves to a 2022 Calder Cup victory. Not many coaches at his age get a head coaching gig, but Warsofsky could very soon get that title.

I’d kick tires on quenneville or Gallant if he gets the boot from NYR.

The last two head coaches in the AHL got brought up as assistants under new hires. It's time to change that and go with Love.

Huska would be terrible like Playfair and Muller is hopefully fired.

I'm not sure what Brunette did in Florida but just marry on to cosch Q. His connection to Huberdeau isn't that big a deal since we will need to get more out of 15-16 other players.

I voted Huska, but I think the team looks outside of the organization.
