The refs tried their best to give the Bruins the game and the better team still won. It's how it should be.

The Bruins were frauds and never as good as their record. Didn't the Flames completely out play them and put 50 shots on them but the Bruins still won? I watched a lot of their games this year and it wasn't like they were some amazing team. Their PDO was through the roof for a reason.

Flames coached and managed the team into the dirt.
Not to mention given an NHL coach much sooner. A few consistent years of growth for our last core and these guys wouldn't have been telling us they're leaving.
Blows my mind that people are still acting like last summer was a complete surprise, unpreventable and there's nothing management could have done to avoid the situation.
I'm not sure what the point of management even is for the Flames if keeping your best players and building a team isn't an expectation of the job.

Just like it’s guaranteed Johnny will resign with the Flames.

Your homer statements mean nothing.

Flames will be icing a team next year minus a number of their UFA’s to be.

Improved goaltending will likely help, the the best we can likely hope for is a bubble team. And every year thereafter a steady decline.

Been cheering for this team for a decade, and through some pretty awful seasons.

Fair to say I earned this? Or is this payback for the rough year as a Flames fan? I dunno.

Bennett wanted out because of usage, not contract IMO.

I’m convinced Tkachuk was gone no matter what. But I agree, it’s water under the bridge. I don’t really ever care about players after they leave. That includes the likes of Iginla and Giordano. Frankly, former Flames finding PO success has been pretty darned rare.

Nobody on the planet has any idea what the Flames will look like in 2 or 3 years. Heck, even next year they will look different.

I give credit to the Bruins. They were tough the whole way through, but you could see the nerves getting to them because of the regular season they had and the expectations on them. I do think it's a bit of a burden to be an elite team in the regular season, and I think it's far better to get in just by being good (not squeaking in, but legitimately good). That way you have confidence, but you aren't expecting to dominate every opponent. When adversity comes, you can respond appropriately.

This is that extremely rare situation where the top seed lost to the 17th seed so yes, exactly what some players and managers are calling for. It's a rare event but there is concern by some that the regular season doesn't mean enough if the top teams don't win.

I got no skin in the game, if Boston won, great, if Florida did great. As long as they beat Toronto great.

Congrats on a big win so enjoy it!

Ok but shout-out to the bruins dj. He was cranking out some fabulous Metallica gems tonight. Stuff you don't usually hear at hockey games.

Go Chucky and Bennett! F the Laughs.

Other than the two passes before the goal and Tkachuk providing the screen.

It’s how most assists are rewarded.

It’s funny how many people harbour a grudge towards these guys.

Our team fumbled and bumbled them along, of course they requested trades out. Don’t blame them.

Blame the dumpster fire we cheer for.

True, but I am basing on their best players aging out and below average prospects.

Tkachuk likely would have signed an 8 year contract if the money was right some years back.

Query why Bennett wasn’t given a good opportunity.

Bennett plays much better at center than wing. Traded and immediately put at center. Dube currently plays much better at center, but stapled to the wing. Weird calgary things.

My source info on Gaudreau was confirmed by Seravalli but you have to keep going there because well...your pathetic and having nothing else. How is thinking Huby and the Flames bounce back being a Homer? It is called being optimistic, something you can't wrap your head around with your neverending negative bs. If you think the best we can be next year is a bubble team and then a steady decline there is no reason any sane fan would stick around for that so feel free to gtfo. Go cheer for the Oilers, seems like a good fit.

We have Derek Ryan. There is no room for Sam Bennett at C

Genius stuff
