Frankly the only reason I wanted Florida to lose is the endless whining here about how they weren’t “kept” (after both asking for a trade).

This article was great. Bruins Athletic writer. He put this out after a 2-1 OT win by the Bruins against the Leafs.

It should not take the Bruins long to get out of the first round.

The Bruins’ depth at every position would make another seven-gamer an unlikely scenario.

Others will disagree but this result is not really a great look for the league.

They tried but the owner wasn't going to pony up 8mill for a 50 point player.

Next round we get to watch Tkachuk, Bennett, Gio, and Brodie all sharing the ice in the second round, not to mention Jarnkrok haha

I'm happy for them but I'm not going to lie, it does piss me off watching Bennett and Chucky taking control when it matters.

On the other hand, watching Marchand cry never gets old.

Bennett withdrew his trade request once Sutter started coaching.

Not sure whats worse. Watching the Flames stumble and bumble through the whole season.

Or being a Bruins fan and watching maybe the best team ever blow it in round 1.

If $8M would have done it. There’s a reason his 3rd season was $9M.

Flames coached and managed the team into the dirt.
The point about Bennett is revisionist. He was never better than Monahan and Backlund when he was here. He's finding success in Florida, just as Lindholm found success after leaving Carolina. Water under the bridge.

Fully agreed on Tkachuk.

Okay, but not sure how the Flames 'have nothing to show for it' has to do with that. This year sucked but the Flames still have some nice pieces, including who they got from Florida, and could easily be in the playoffs net season.

And we mock the Oilers so much. Either this is karma, or Flames are pretty much no different from the team up north in ineptitude.

WTF?

How is it bad for the league to sell hope to any team that makes the playoffs? If anything this is one of the greatest reasons to watch this sport in the playoffs at any cost. Unpredictability and drama makes sport enjoyable. Having a champion chosen at the beginning of the playoffs is incredibly boring unless you're already a fan of that team.

This is a good thing. Learn to love it.

8 beat 1 and 7 beat 2 in the NBA this year.

10-6 Wildcard Giants beat the 16-0 Patriots.

This is nothing new in sports, its why people love sports.

Crap, you're right. It was Chicago and LA that repeated. I always think Boston was one of them too.
