A very detailed and interesting description of how and why The Watchtower was the theme music at the end of the season finale of Battlestar.
http://www.bearmccreary.com/html/blog/blogmain.htm
The song will be on Battlestar album.

I went to do that also, but couldn't find it. You must have done it the legal way or something.
I agree, the music in that final scene was unreal. A totally wonderful piece of audio and visual. I watched that segment probably 5 time over after the show.

Where did you find it? I did the exact same thing after the episode but with no such luck. Great song indeed.

Sorry, I forgot about this question from Clintonium . . . . .
Baltar tells the Cylons that his calculations were based on a map "Roslin and Adama brought back from Kobol" . . . . obviously the cave trip where the sky was revealed to them and Starbuck declared "We're standing on Earth."
Then, later, after Baltar starts hanging out with the Cylons on their base ship after the evacuation of New Caprica, Gaeta tells Adama and Roslin that the calculations he is doing is based on Baltar's work above . . . . and they head for a nebula based on that. A Lions Head nebula I believe is the description.
Hence the likelihood of both parties ending up in the same place.

One follow-up to the above . . . . . in the jail scene where Gaeta tries to stick a pen in Baltar's throat, immediately preceding that Baltar is making some adjustments to Gaeta's map calculations . . . . . .

Man, I hope this show doesn't end next year. It's just too good.
|
Correction: it was too good. The entire third season, with the exception of maybe 2-3 episodes, was utter crap.

thats your opinion. I thought the third season was superb.
I understand what your saying CC, and I agree. I kind of want it to go on forever so I always have the anticipation of the next episode. When it's over...that's it. Then I have to go and watch the DVD. But they will end it when it's right. If RM can get everything done and tidied up this next season, then I know it will be for the best, but I will still be disappointed that there won't be any more episodes.

The producers have been very clear that they want the show to end on their terms (rather than being cancelled) and secondly, given the story line, that they absolutely MUST end it rather than let it meander off into infinity.
I think Ron Moore himself has said this story is well past the half way mark.
It was both Olmos and Sackoff saying this was likely the last season. . . . . . but it wouldn't be unusual for this show to lob little mind game grenades like this out into the ether to stir up the fans.
I think Olmos and McDonnell have five year contracts.
Personally, aside from a couple of the stand-alone episodes, I liked the third season . . . . . . reviewing it again over the last few weeks has been quite fun.
But I think this would probably be a good season to end it . . . . . and then it would be easy to follow up with a few subsequent movies.
Time to find Earth.

Now THERE'S an idea! Something along the lines of "Serenity" to wrap up the loose ends.
Only, ya know, better.

Lucy Lawless says there are rumours of her return...

You left “Battlestar Galactica” to star in the pilot “Football Wives.” Though your “Battlestar” character was “boxed,” the door is open for her to return. Are there plans for you to come back to BSG?
I’ve heard whispers of it. But I was all gung-ho to go off and do my own thing on “Football Wives,” but it didn’t get picked up. So I don’t know. I’m kind of weighing all sorts of interesting options at the moment.

The next season of BSG is the last. link

Ending "Battlestar" with the upcoming 22-episode fourth season was a creative decision made by the hit show's executive producers Ronald Moore and David Eick.
