There was a time when these people annoyed me, but the entertainment quality of their dumbness is valuable, I think. It will never not be funny seeing them boast about some accomplishment or put up red flags over some danger just for the immediate introduction of easily discoverable facts to make them look stupid.
Glad we have a few winners on the board to keep the laughs coming.

Please read my posts and specify where I said otherwise. My entire point is that the ultra rich/successful people I have had close interactions with work basically every waking moment.
I have commented that they are a consequence of capitalism and that a lot of people have benefited from the rise of their companies. All that is true.
I also understand that over taxation will drive money away from Canada and has in the past. There will always be countries/states/provinces that will allow tax havens and companies will always take advantage.

Yeah, when people say Twitter is better than ever, in a way they're right. Seeing a bunch of tech bros and right wing grifters being baffled at how famous people (even totally non-political ones) are going out of their way to not be associated with those who are paying for Twitter has been hilarious. I think they're finally close to realizing how little cultural cachet they actually have.

The constant chiding of celebrities who have said little more than “I don’t want this” when it comes to verification is a hilariously bleak view into the minds of these people.
They spent all this time begging for verification to mean nothing and to be non-exclusive, and as soon as the only people who made verification mean anything say, “Ok, you win, I don’t care about it or want it,” they lose their mind about how it’s a “gift” or how awful they are for not wanting to pay $8 for something that has become meaningless.
The Twitter verification thing is like a real life production of Dr Seuss’s The Sneetches. Everyone wants a star, but as soon as everyone can have a star then the people who had them in the first place don’t want them, effectively making the star a negative symbol instead of positive one. And that’s just one of a countless list of hilarious things on that app. Love it.

I'm still amazed at how far people on the right are willing to hurt themselves and their future just to spite the left. Truly amazing. Losing $20b? No problem. Loss of freedoms? No problem. Increase your taxes? No problem. Loss of social programs? No problem. Difficult and more expensive health care? No problem.
As long as those damn lefties and woke people can't do what they want and talk about it, that's all that matters. In their mind, if they truly do that, it's won/fixed.

Perfect example, Musk should continue to follow the Dr Seuss model and charge Lebron for the removal of his check mark

They could have a blue check activation/deactivation checkbox, whereby changing the check box charges you $8 per change.

He's also made the product almost unusable for a lot of people that don't use Twitter for political purposes.
As somebody who used twitter in a non-political way to follow interesting people in hobbies I like, I've gone from daily user to not using it at all. My feed became full of US politics and extreme viewpoints from people who are idiots (on both sides, but mostly US right-wing). I never subscribed to any of these tweets, they were just thrust on my feed.
I am neither pro nor con Elon, but from the outside it's been an unmitigated disaster, and I can think of no 'wins' that have come up.
In fact, his work at twitter has severely harmed Elon's reputation as a genius amongst people that didn't really know or care about him.

You can be one of the special people by paying to have a checkbox. Different coloured checkboxes too!

Elon put $20B on a cross to die for our social media sins, to deliver us from the ever-narrowing social parameters set upon us by an ammoral oligarchy class. Yet here you weebs are fighting to provide a safe space for advertisers, wishing for the silence of dissenting opinions and pining for twitter to return to being run by military intelligence. The subversion of the far-left into a pro-establishment, pro-war and pro-censorship entity seems to be near it's completion.
