I bet they don't give him the window seat either.
Then he goes home, sits down and stares into the abyss.
Maybe he will grey a little more with every early playoff exit?

The ESPN broadcast was terrible. The PBP was almost as bad as Michaels as Weeks is an awful colour guy.
On ESPN2 during power plays they had these little icons with the players’ names following them around. Neat idea but it was really distracting.

Smartening the game up for dumb Americans. Ugh.

Haven't they been doing that all season on national US broadcasts?

I offered my opinion, and people jumped on it. I am thrilled with an oiler loss for rivalries sake. I am also at peace with the worst case scenario should it come to pass. I do wish our team did not languish in perpetual mediocrity.
Toxic fandom has caused me needless stress and I'm tired of it. I'm tired of hating opposing team fan bases just because they cheer for the other team. I am tired of them hating us. There are enough reasons in the world to be depressed, anxious, and miserable. The team you cheer for shouldn't be one of them. I am not here to change anyone's mind nor sway your opinions. I simply gave mine. How much you dwell on it and make fun of me for it, is up to you.

I think you should shower the Oilers with more praise. Worked for the first game.

The people throwing things on the ice were from Edmonton, not here.

I have to say an Oilers loss, particularly one like last night, feels almost as good as a Flames playoff win.

Why are they not going through video evidence to try to find the beer thrower? He could have seriously injured a player. Remember the Jays fan that threw his beer? The media crucified that guy.

This is a pretty ####ing ignorant comment. This is fantastic for casual watchers of the game, particularly when they might not be super familiar with all the players. I personally liked having the names up for the puck carrier during the PP.
My kids like it as well and anything I can do to increase their interest and understanding of the game is great.

Thanks to everyone for the play by play. As most of you know, I don't watch Oiler games because of the announcers, so I was enjoying the Stars/Wild game. What a glorious morning! Oilers lose, Kings players wave at the Greaser fans, get pelted with beer cans. Oilers complain about the penalties they got. Couldn't have gone much better.

I still think the Oil take the series but that sure was enjoyable.
Pro Tip: If you have a lot of annoying Oilers friends there are so many amazing "King" type .gifs out there.

Just saw a replay of the OT goal again and noticed something I missed last night. Kempe accidentally on purpose giving Nurse a pretty good bump on his way to celebrate. Love it.

Disagree. The game is over, that's actually pretty classless and I'm surprised Nurse didn't react. It happens fast and probably wasn't quite deliberate, but I'm not a fan at all.

Kings seem to be particularly good at trolling their opponents
Their SM team is probably tops in the league

Na. It was awesome, Nurse was laying the lumber all game and got away with it.

Find a way to win game 2 as the visitors and the Oilers are actually in trouble.

Listened to Rishaug on 1260.
Says the Kings need a different game plan. The Oilers should just keep doing what they are doing, and clean it up a little.
Excellent

Edmonton was the better team at 5v5 last night - especially in the first 40 minutes. But I'm not sure if that was Edmonton being good, or LA playing a bit too passive out the gate and giving the Oilers too much respect.
I think this win gives the Kings a lot of confidence - and depending on when they get Vilardi and Fiala back that gives them a bit more fire power too.
