This. Surprised to see all the gloom. The Flames have been drafting reasonably well for a while but have made a lot of very bad mistakes on trades and contracts.

Getting worked by Gaudreau which led to the panic of last summer was brutal.

One can only hope that Backlund, Toffoli, Lindholm and maybe others demand trades and indicate they will not re-sign, forcing a rebuild. Because that seems to be the only thing that could make it happen. Then again, our two superstars did it and it didn’t force a rebuild, so maybe it’s hopeless delusion forever.
