Don't give me the whole Fox wasn't going to sign? Fox literally was never going to sign, that's not even up for debate.

He tried hard this game. You could tell he wanted to win.

Hopefully it carries over to next season.

Kadri on the other hand. I would not miss him if anyone wants him.

Have to say this might be the most disappointing regular season in a long time. The fall off from last season, given the roster, makes it feel like the ultimate of wasted seasons from a flames fan perspective.

It would be hilarious if the Preds make the playoffs

Get rid of Markstrom first.

Finally, it’s great to hear Loubo question Sutter regarding the sitting of Pelletier sitting for the stretch drive. Wills agreed with him, but only after it was raised by Peter.

You called me out first. Take a rebuttal or stay quiet in the first place.

I too prefer to enjoy hockey. What would make it more enjoyable is having a successful franchise. Middling is worse than anything in my opinion, and we’ve been doing that basically since 1989, with a couple minor outliers along the way.

Last year’s REGULAR SEASON was reversed, but the playoffs confirmed it was a mirage. JG and Chucky were never getting us to the promised land and I’m on record saying that. It was the perfect opportunity to reload, and we went about it the wrong way, and we’re middling yet again.

So you can call me wrong if you’d like, but the truth is you’re wrong. Looking forward to the scouting report on our 16thOA pick.

Even the last quarter of the season Huberdeau is fine.

3.01 points per 60 in the last 19 games, and on the ice for 19 GF and 9GA at 5v5.

For comparison sake he was at 2.97 Point per 60 last year at 5v5 in Florida and Tkachuk was at 3.25 points per 60 at 5v5 in Calgary.

If he can keep up his play from the stretch drive, and we can get an actual competent PP coach then he will be fine.

Why did he use Kadri?

As soon as I saw him I knew we were in trouble.

I think Huberdeau has been playing well lately.

Something I noticed - he didn't really celebrate after scoring the SO goal. I think it's because he truly wanted to win and knew it wasn't over.

Recalculating...

33% of the time, every time (now 2/6 career)
Thing is, shootouts are so rare that success rates for most players are almost meaningless. The fact he’s only been selected to shoot 6 times is way more telling. Brayden Point was drafted the same year as Ritchie (though a couple rounds later). He has 36 attempts.

The coach needs to pick the most talented players regardless of percentage.

It was torturous watching them most of the season.

Probably. Just when you think that was the final F U, the universe will manage to squeeze in another.

Edmonton wet dream season. I hope the hockey gods are happy with themselves.

Agree. However, how did they not know this prior to drafting him?

Probably not that simple, but drafting NCAA studs to Calgary is like drafting Russians. Unnecessarily risky. Take the BPA from, well, pretty much any other place other than NCAA with the short circuit screwover ability or Russia and you'll be fine. But Calgary continues to divert its scouting resources to the wrong spots.

Why did Gaudreau leave? Why will Hanifin want out? Why is it risky to have Coronato, and now you're promising him a year burned off his ELC? It's a mistake to draft NCAA or Russians, IMO.

Sutter says we have another game to win? I guess, don't expect any future Flames in the lineup.

If not winning the cup is your standard it's pretty easy to be right I guess...I highly doubt you had the Flames winning the division in a landslide last season

And wrong again the Flames aren't picking 16th
