Reimer has provided no support to the people you describe above. In fact he has stated exactly the opposite. Lumping Reimer in with the people you describe in your post is a straw man argument.
His actions encourage that view, there's no getting around it. Add straw-man to the list of #### you don't get.

So my point is why do you care? Like I said, not everyone is going to agree with you. So you can take whatever gains the event made. Or you can get mad at people on the internet for pointing out the obvious.

I find it’s better to not spend all your energy being mad.

Why do you care?

You now have the fifth-most posts out of anyone in this thread. Over 20 posts pretending not to care.

This thread is wonderful as everyone gets to say their piece. BoLevi and GoRiders posts upset me and then someone like AlphaQ and others come along and make things feel good again on this subject.

That's free speech at work.

I've come to view BoLevi & GoRiders as the Flat Earthers of CP.

Yes, how surprising that a discussion of bigotry would lead to other examples of bigotry being mentioned.

It's not like Godwin's law was meant to make fun of totally irrelevant subject matter discussions somehow leading to the invocation of comparisons to Hitler and the Nazis.

Of course in your case you are trying to use it to downplay the parallels between current LGBTQ+ struggles and those of other marginalized groups of the past.

It's sad you would feel the need to bring that up in a conversation about such a serious topic, but I guess it shows what personal bias you bring to the conversation.

No one said it was surprising. Lazy? Sure. Surprising? No.

I'm not sure I did that. Can you provide a quote?

It's sad that you need to resort to ad hominems. Lazy? Sure. Surprising? No.

There has to be a law or word for people using laws like Godwin’s Law wrong, no? Not just acting in a bad faith argument but like being completely wrong about it also like Cannon7 was.

Godwin himself has issued certain corollaries to his law in recent years.

Amending the reductio ad absurdum.

There can’t be a word for it because the type of person who it’s about would almost certainly misuse that word as well in an attempt to sound intelligent and it’s exhausting enough humouring the internet philosophy minor schtick as it is.
