Cannery Row was a seafood restaurant, not unlike Rodney's Oyster Bar currently at the other end of the block at 4th Street. Mother Tucker's was a few doors down, not blocks; it was where the Craft Beer Market is now. Cannery Row had been there since the... mid-'80s I think? And Mother Tucker's was there dating back to the mid-'70s. It reminded me a lot of Nick's Steakhouse up by McMahon Stadium, but frankly I don't think I'd been to Mother Tucker's but once.

I don't know how long the Thai place on that block has been open but it feels like it has been around for a long time.

I worked at Mother Tuckers in my younger days. Salad bar and prime rib was their jam. Definitely of a different era…

Anyone else remember what the place above Cannery Row was called?

literally the worst prime rib ever. It was completely under seasoned. You may as well have boiled it. I remember people hyping this place in the 90's. Finally got there and it was awful.

Nope, it was a$$hole around our house.
Just like Mumford and Sons "I will wait for you" is "I will take a poo".

We went there as kids over 20-30 times for birthdays and special occasions.
One day we went for my uncle's bday and I said in the car "What! we are going to mothereffers again?"
My mom didn't like that so no I didn't have to go "again" that day.

Japanese Village is upstairs, in the space that used to be McQueen's.
The last time I ate at Japanese Village was when it was on the corner of 4th Ave and 2nd Street SW, which had to have been... oh, at least 15 years ago. Used to be just down the street from The French Maid!

Oh wow that must have been where that blind date in university took place. I have faded memories of it now. After that we went across the street to Eau Claire cinemas to watch some bad movie.
Date at Japanese Village by Eau Claire...not the French Maid. I also heard the stories about how that was the original hooker stroll but I must have missed it in my era.
