I had a slice at the Dome the other day and thought it was actually a lot better than I expected to be. Definitely earned it’s place in the Pizza Hut/Dominoes/Panago ballpark.

I think he believes that a short burst of hard 1 on 1 battling leads more often to turnovers, and that gets the puck out of your zone faster, so you defend less, and attack more.

In theory it works, but then again so does communism...in theory.

This is pretty much the player you can expect him to be. He isn't an offensive dynamo, but he does great at turning pucks back the other way, and then pushing the play up the ice to let his forwards get their chances. That's why he's a net extremely positive player, even though he doesn't get the points himself.
9 points and +7 in his last 8 games

The trouble is that a few guys (Lucic) just can’t get to boards fast enough so the board battle never happens.

There it is. Double the shots, yet still tied. At least they are consistent there.

Agreed.

The issue with that the when a breakdown does occur, it’s often much worse when the legs aren’t there to make up for it. Not to mention it would require precision passing via breakouts to transition to offence, not exactly a skill Calgary has a lot of.

With our goaltending every single time the other team gains the zone the anxiety rises.
