The sad part of this all is that a lot of this fanbase soured on Tkachuk so much in 19/20 & 20/21.
Many said that his attitude was a problem. He wasn't the one driving his line, his offensive output was because of his linemates.
Bad takes all around.

I agree with you. People just love to complain. It happens with every base.
Ridiculous to think that a 23-25 year old wouldn’t continue to mature and get better.

Oh for sure I do. He was the 1st Flame(along with Gaudreau to crack 100 points since Fleury did it in 1992! and then what did he do in the playoffs? He showed up in 2 of the 12 games! Brady did more for us in the playoffs last year! lol

That was Sutter
Prep him up to come out punching and hitting instead of playing hockey
There is nothing in his game that said he can’t play playoff hockey

Is this a serious post? Every bad performance is Sutter's fault?

It’s the coach to prepare the players.
He gets credit both ways

Well by all indications his attitude was a problem. His antics grew thin with some players over the years and he wanted to be captain without earning it. Also his regular season scoring prowess has never been questioned as it's his play in the playoffs that has left a lot to be desired.

He’s 25. He has time to figure it out in the playoffs

Tkachuk did show up with a goal and an assist in the game 7 win against Dallas.
I thought he was invisible too often in the playoffs, but showing up in game 7 counts. His point totals last year were also not bad in the playoffs.

Re axes to grind: Yup the double baseball bat to the head of losing Chucky and Gaudreau at the same time will sting for years. I see this thread being active for some time.

10 points in first 8 playoff games last year, 0 in the last 3 but entire team disappeared , even Johnny had 1 point in those 3 games.

Did you even watch last years playoffs? He showed up for the 2nd half of Game 7 and Game 1 against the Oilers. He had 5 points in those 2 games and just effed off for the other 10.
NOBODY on here was happy with him after the post season. So yeah he might get 125 points this year in the regular season and gets them into the playoffs.. do Panther fans care about that if they get bounced in 5 or 6 games in Round 1?

At least he's dragging his team to the playoffs, unlike our expensive acquisitions in the offseason who'd prefer to complain about the coach and just quit. I'd take Tkachuk back any day.

I have no doubts that he will figure it out and be as effective in the playoffs. I’ve always thought he was a great talent, but between last year and this season, it has put him into the elite category for sure. Good for Chucky.

Let's see what he does in the playoffs. Tkachuk was an elite superstar last year for us too but IMO not once did he ever show up in the playoffs for us.
Maybe he will this year but for now he's firmly a guy that can get you to the dance but won't take you all the way.

I could be wrong but weren’t you one of those people? You were screaming to the high heavens in 2021 this team had no elite talent (including Tkachuk and Gaudreau) and needed to tear it down.
I feel like Tkachuk was absolutely beloved in 2019/20. The Kassian thing ignited and we won the 2 games where it was a big deal. He fought Wheeler after the Schiefele incident and many sympathized with him when he was losing his mind when the team blew a 3-0 lead in game 6 against Dallas.
20/21 there was definitely a lot of hate/shade being thrown his way by the fans.
