Incidentally, he just got another 3 points tonight to move to 4th place with 95pts in 67 games

Maybe get a dictionary lol
I think you need more than 2 seasons

Didn't like him that much when he was here, and didn't expect this out of him, but gotta give him credit for what he's doing. He always wanted to the 'the guy' on his team and there's no doubt he's doing that now.
I did always like Bennett though, so I'm glad to see him benefiting from it.
Two of the Flames highest ever draft picks playing together and putting up points to lift their team into a playoff spot while the Flames are on the outside looking in is a bit of a twist of the knife though.

Gotta be honest, thought tkachuk was benefiting from gaudreau and Lindholm last year, thought he would fall off but he looks more like he was the one driving that line

This just isn’t true. Johnny was definitely the main line driver last year. It’s just Thachuk this year is showing he can drive a line on his own

They are definitely both line drivers. Put Johnny on a decent team other than the Blue Jackets and he would be putting up even more points this year. The fact he is almost a ppg this season still, shows how offensively gifted and the line driver he can be. At times as a fan, I was hard on Johnny, but you don’t realize how good a player is till they are no longer on the team.
I’ve watched a fair number of Blue jackets games and he is still carrying the puck and trying to make things happen.

I'm kind of hoping the Jackets end up with Bedard, just to watch highlights of Johnny and Bedard playing together.

did I say he wouldn't have any more?
Perennial:
continuing without interruption : constant, perpetual
2 isn't enough

Well you did say he would not get another 9 months ago, so the possibility that he could get more than 2 is a slight shift.

and its a possibility he might not...like I said I will take the under for next year
calling him a perennial 100 point scorer RIGHT NOW is what I disagree with (because by definition its wrong)

I never said those aren't superstar numbers. They are in the regular season.
but when the going gets tough he stops going. Skates like he is in mole's asses. Maybe he will change this post season..

for 5th place?
I mean most people had the Panthers who won the presidents trophy as a playoff team at least. Squeaking in won't give him a ton of votes IMO.
McDavid is winning, I would be shocked in Tkachuk is top 3
Its not really a conversation

At the end Panthers didn’t want to pay Huberdeau long term and they were right. Tkachuk just happened to fall in their laps.
Treliving didn’t just trade for Huberdeau. He traded knowingly he had to sign him to that contract. That was a colossal mistake. It will make James Neal look like a minor mistake

That trade right now is looking like a big win for the Panthers now. What a fatally bad off season for Treliving.

You kind of have an axe to grind if you're arguing about how good Tkachuk is right now.

The trade was great given the circumstances. The signings were mistakes.
The potentially fatal part was just not accepting that the team's window to compete had already closed as soon as Johnny left and Tkachuk wanted out. Bringing in Huberdeau, Weegar, and then Kadri was actually a pretty impressive effort at trying to pry that window back open again for another season or two, but it's looking like it was a bit deluded. The window had closed. It was time to find new young guys to build around.

Absolutely. Sucks for us Flames fans, but Tkachuk is one of the most valuable players in the entire league. I still love watching him play too, such a fun player.
I still dream of an alternate reality where the Flames have a core of Gaudreau, Tkachuk, Fox, and Hamilton
