Sure, good for Alberta but if BC is dry as indicated on the map it could mean another smoky, awful summer here.

Heat plus humidity could mean a nasty hail/thunderstorm season this year.

I recently moved to Toronto form Vancouver and it's wild how differently the two cities manage snow fall. For obvious reasons of course but man, last weekend, over 30 cms fell overnight and by 10am, the small street at my friends place was plowed and according to friends who were out earlier, major arteries were clear by 8 (likely earlier). 5 cm falls in Vancouver and the only roads plowed are Knight, Kingsway, Lougheed and a handful of others while everywhere else is just loaded up with snow.

^Me every day here.

Not sure what’s more depressing, 20below mid-March or the fact it’s not even a big deal.

It's -16. It is supposed to be +8 by the time I bike home. I have no idea how to dress for this, but suspect my bag won't be able to hold all the layers on the ride home...

Yeah one of my best friends moved to Toronto right before Covid, that's what he says as well, they get on it immediately there. He loves to go on and on about Toronto's apparent superiority (he's kind of an agitator), so I was secretly hoping that storm would've caused more commuting issues than it did ha-ha (delays I mean, not injuries or anything sadistic like that).

As for us today, here's to winter in the morning and spring in the afternoon.

Toronto has that advantage of the snow melting a lot faster on the roads compared to Calgary. I don't think they even sand or gravel as it's all salt.

What’s with the air quality advisory? Dust from the roads?

I wondered that too, but it does look pretty hazy out there looking off in the distance.
