There's little doubt today that the automated " volumes currently higher than anticipated" message is code for " We are understaffed so you may as well just hold for a while because this is the best service we offer".

The Calgary International Airport was one big cluster #### last night. I was parked in the cellphone lot waiting for my brother to call so I can pick him up at the curb. Phone rings and it's like everyone's phone does the same thing. It's 10PM and there is a long line of cars waiting to empty the lot and then on to the arrival area.
Brother said it's spring break in the States and 4 flights arrived at the same time with passengers headed to Banff for skiing.

Unless your brother was flying private that's kind of how flights work. They put a bunch of people on it and they all land at the same time.

9pm to 11pm is pretty much Calgary Airport rush hour. It's the busiest time of the day.
A large number of international and transborder flights are arriving at that time.

Why does it seem the people who comment on the weather the most, spend the least amount of time out in it?

Well, that's easy -- they'd be outside more if the weather wasn't dogsh-t.

Having my mortgage come up for renewal next month. Trying to find the lowest rate and figuring out what term to take is a nightmare.

Just starting shopping for a new car. Looking at at Toyota Venza hybrid. Ten-month delivery. Haven’t pulled the trigger but it’s a sweet car.

Shopping for used cars is the easiet thing to do in the world.
Go to Kijiji or FB Marketplace, find a car, make an offer that is 40% less than the list price, or offer the seller a trade with designer clothes

Hey bro, take a flight of stairs, I'll pick you up on the departures level. You're welcome.

Don't know why more people that think of that. T1 at Pearson has a ground level for buses. I pick up and drop off people there all the time. There's elevators and escalators right there.

Ya, probably don’t really dress for it because they aren’t in it much, so the complaints compound.

I refuse to pick people up or drop them off at the airport. It's such a pita and way too high a chance of delayed flights, delays getting baggage, etc. Just take an uber or cab. I reciprocate by never asking anybody to take me or pick me up. I'll even pay for your cab if it means I don't have to waste a couple hours of my time.
I get it's different for Dion since he lives in high river.

I agree, drop off ONLY but never pick up. That stresses out the people trying to get out of the airport, stresses out me the driver having to wait in a zone I'm probably not supposed to be in etc... For what? A $50 cab ride?
My uncle wanted to leave his car at my house so i can drive him and his new girlfriend to the airport and go to the Carribean. To save what? $50? And now I would have a car in my driveway for a week IN THE SNOW, while you guys are banging on some beach. I told him to pound sand.

Yeah, what type of adult has their #### together enough to travel but can't afford the extra $50 for an uber?
