I don't think the asking price for Lindholm will be met by 3PM EST but deadlines breed desperation.
Players with the most interest seem to be Backlund, Toffoli and Dube...Lewis will probably go tomorrow.
Flames D are of interest around the league to teams both in and out of the hunt but the same snag for the flames continues to hold them hostage.. Oliver Kylington.
Surprise name of day was Mangipane - Having an average season but this could be the case of buying the potential..5.8M Cap hit for 2 more years is a sticking point...doesn't seem to have fire in his heart.
Challenge is Flames are not interested in complete future trades but teams don't want to subtract from their rosters in the hunt. Most teams that wanted to move 2023 1st rounders have done so.

This is very frustrating to read. The season was over 5 games ago, and anyone with half a brain knew this. No #### all the 1sts have been traded now. Flames late to the dance and now in an awkward position. Also, demanding current players is idiotic, to say the least. Get futures and get a rebuild going. Jesus.

Sigh. Even when they’re out of it they won’t accept their fate.

I don't know, I would say he has definitely lacked fire this season

I think the fact that they're open to sell says they've accepted their most likely fate.
What not being interested in complete future trades sounds like to me is they're not interested in going full rebuild and still want to compete next season.
Team tankers won't like to hear that but after having a good season last year they're not just going to blow it up after one bad season.

This team flip flops every season though - so it's an infinite loop?
Bad Season -> Good Season -> Bad Season -> Good Season -> Bad Season -> Good Season -> Bad Season -> and on and on and on
I think perhaps this organization needs to better define what it believes a "good" season to be. Loubo said it well the other week - this organization needs to be held to a higher standard.
Getting drilled in the face by your provincial rival in the playoffs should not be viewed as a "good" season. It's a debacle.

Even if the team turns it around next season, they will be two years older than they were in 21/22. Realistically, what is the ceiling on this team?

No, they shouldn't. And there's nothing wrong with getting a younger player who can step in right now and help the team rather than 4-5 years from now if ever.
It's still change which team tankers whine for daily.

Selling Mangiapane would be a great way to knock off nearly 6 mil, make next year less constrained cap-wise, and not affect the team too significantly
I think he's paid twice the value he's brought this year and zary or coronato could replace his offense in relatively short order. i really really like Andrew, but from team standpoint it would be a prudent move

Nah, Team Tank doesn't want change in roster, it wants change in approach.
Nothing on our roster is going to acquire us a Mackinnon, Hedman, Crosby, McDavid, Ovechkin, Makar, or Stamkos.

I think it's not smart to sell Mangiapane this season when his value is at his lowest.

I can get the disappointment with Mang but IMO he’s been a lot better the last few months and his contract certainly isn’t “terrible”. That’s what $5.8M gets you these days. He’s been fine. And he’s only 26. He’s not high up on my list of guys I’d want to trade.

From what sec212 said, sounds like teams see his potential to rebound
otherwise we probably wouldn't be seeing offers
not sure we're ever getting the 35 goal guy again. a bounce back (on this flames team, at least) would be moderate at best
sell

Crap, this is what I feared. So basically the east was going nuts, paying huge prices in an arms race for the last two weeks and then when everyone was done the Flames jumped up at the 12th hour and said "Hey, anyone want upgrade their team for a playoff run!!??".
Jesus, this team.
