Someone else described them perfectly as the leagues Contract laundering destination. All you 5 million cap hit million dollar injured players and insured contracts go here in lieu of compliance buy outs.
I would think Schmaltz would fetch a nice return though.

All these veteran backups/minor leaguers moving around, I wonder if Oscar Dansk could be traded for a late rounder... alas he's injured at the moment.
