Why does Senators fan needs to be closetted, I wonder. I thought only Oilers fans have the inferiority complex.

In a way it makes sense . Monahan was worth a 1st to take .

So that cap space is worth - In theory - another 2nd or a 1st if you take another 1.5 on in salary

However if you don’t use the cap in that manner it’s just …. A number

Here's my take on the Chychrun deal over at Daily Faceoff.

https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/news/gr...-top-tier-pick

Gave the Senators an A grade and the Coyotes a B. I think both teams accomplished what they set out to do, albeit in a bit of a roundabout way for Arizona.

Wonder how Chychrun and Chabot share ice time, they’re both big minute munchers.
Next to 0 chance they make the ECF but if they did, their pick would fall all the way to 29-32 so my guess is the Coyotes asked for it on the very rare chance to protect themselves and Ottawa easily obliged.

He really didn’t. Maybe more picks, but Ottawa’s picks had way more value.

It’s nice seeing a highlight package of good defensive plays

The reality is that this is exactly what the player was worth as probably half the league was engaged with Ottawa over the past few years looking to acquire the player and ultimately this is the best deal they could get. He's a good defenseman but it remains to be seen if he can stay healthy or is even elite. The Flames paying the same price for Hamonic is more a reflection of the one of the worst trades in Flames history and has no bearing on Chycrun's worth.

For a guy as injury prone as Chych, that was a solid solid return.

Ya, but being a great player in college doesn't always translate to the pros
