The Sitzmark morning breakfast buffet, had one of those stainless steel chests with like pounds of perfect bacon. I’d put some in my coat for shredding later that day, like an Indian warrior packing pemmican.

What book were they reading, Mein Kampf?

All are a better value than high tea and the Empress

The protests are in relation to the reading with royalty (drag storytime for children) program.

So...you're saying the Mein Kampf crowd might have been marginally more civil?

Lol, this is like the epitome of CP's demographic posting on any given subject. This was probably posted without irony or sarcasm, as well.

It was a bit tongue-in-cheek, but I genuinely feel there aren’t many good reasons to willingly eat at a buffet once you’re no longer a starving student that needs to make up for a days-long calorie deficit.

No college students are paying $75 to fill their calorie deficit lol. They aren’t even paying half that. In fact, they aren’t eating at buffets at all.

And whatever you think the reason is that adults eat at buffets, it’s not that.

What strarving students are eating at buffets? See, this feels even more out of touch and "CP-ish" than it was already, lol.

Hell, speaking of out of touch, I'll go next. I had no idea buffets in Calgary were still a thing, I hadn't been to one in at least 15 years so just assumed they died off

What buffet besides Banff Springs costs $75?

This'll be the new benchmark for CP out-of-touchness.

Plus you and 3 other starving students could just pick one of you to go into the buffet with a garbage bag lined backpack and then you’re all eating good for $5

I had a boss that took all of the office staff to 'Taste of China' every few weeks, he was a bigger guy and he would shame people into 'getting his money's worth.'

Now that was miserable.

They were supposed to lure them inside, sneak every one out the back, then fumigate it

No, this was the one that was on Bonaventure Drive in a mall off Macleod near Southland?

It was years ago, but yes, it was 'Chinese food' in spirit only and it was the kind of thing that only a monster would feed to prisoners.

I guess I'm woke, as I think these are the sorts of statements we need less of, in this day and age.

Boss used to take us there as well. If it was warm out they used a 10 gallon tofu bucket to hold the front door open. Lid was off but still full of tofu blocks and brine. I assume they gabbed a chunk as needed from that bucket.
