It would be so Calgary Flames to just not trade anybody who has any kind of appeal to the number of contenders trading away top assets, because they have some false pretence that anything can happen if they just get in.
The teams in the east are literally trying to one up each other daily, if its possible to take advantage, there is nobody on this roster I wouldn't consider moving, especially the guys who are UFA after next season.
I fully expect BT to add some depth player on Friday that won't cost anything premium, asset wise, but will be a sign he still "believes" in this group.

And would give us all some entertaining hockey. I wish Tre had the balls to do this, but this is never the Flames way

Either way, I think this came up as a shot at GioforPM, which is totally inappropriate.

It is not actually "used all the time" for non-KC, and it is incorrectly used when used in reference to non-KC.
As for as GioforPM, it was a tongue in cheek comment by a nerdy lawyer about another nerdy lawyer.

I would like a Flames rumor please. Not sure what it means that we're hearing that OTHER teams are calling the Flames due to interest in our players, but anything out of Flames land is silent for weeks.
It's like Brad/the Flames had one plan, win now, and now that he has to change course they're paralyzed. Don't procrastinate please. This idea of "waiting until the summer to make all the changes" doesn't make any sense at all.

Not necessarily.
You want to make the trade when you can maximize that return. There are reasons why that could be the summer, for players with term remaining.
But one would hope that they are approaching in that manner. Engaging in the trade market and assessing if they can maximize their value now or later.

That’s fair but it’s been silent completely, which is odd. Other teams haven’t leaked anything flames related which probably indicates they’re staying the course. Worst case they add. I’m terrified if they go that route so in light of that staying the course is a better alternative. I really wish there would be more media pressure to start a rebuild. These spineless schlubs scared of the organization continue to circle jerk.

A couple of pages back there was a note that many teams are waiting for the prices to drop before trading for players.i think Brad is just waiting for that to happen before trading our players away...

Y'know, it's funny. This is taking me back to summer, when a bunch of posters, myself included, were adamant in defending Tre, saying they had myriad plans of attack re: Gaudreau, that they weren't leaving it to last minute, that talks were consistent, that management had a good beat on what was happening... and all of that proved to be absolutely false. I was confronted with the utter falseness of it when I managed to see the presentation that was delivered to Johnny's agent for next contract. It was garbage, for the record. And it was clear that they hadn't spoken to johnny personally at all (johnny's agent took the presentation but johnny wasn't present). This was only a few weeks before he was to be signed.
Any posters claiming to believe that Tre/ team management have developed fulsome plans are likely lying. Nothing historically would indicate that they have any plan beyond get into the playoffs. They haven't said they have other plans. We ascribe and do much more thinking about the team on these forums than they apparently do.

Lawyers routinely use it in the US, Ontario and elsewhere. we use it all the time (and we hardly even know when someone is a KC and we sure don't care - getting one is pretty darn easy).

I see the Flames seeing that the direct competitors for the final playoff spot are selling and sees this as an opportunity to buy instead. End up spending middle of the road future assets for middle of the road help now and coming up short to even making the playoffs.

The problem is group think. Nobody criticizes the organization. You have a couple guys who look at it from different angles but nobody truly butts heads.

You thinking to an ownership group in Houston, Kansas City, or Quebec?
Think Edwards and group could get $750M for the team.

I only ever use it for KCs, but I am a bit old school, and actually specifically note if opposing counsel is KC or not for that reason.
It's pretty easy to know if one is or not by going to their website.

I think you have a different idea than some others about what a plan is and how detailed and rigid it must be.
But your evidence of a non-plan is your opinion of the quality of a presentation? Or the timing and who was contacted (which was not a unilateral decision)? Let's say for the sake of argument it was a horrible presentation and was delivered badly. How does that translate into "no plan" (as opposed to "crappy execution of a plan").

I’ve used it in both the Magistrate and Crown Courts here in the UK as a general comment for anyone on the other side.
