Yes, I'm disagreeing with him doing it publicly, and I don't care if this is the first time Walsh has done it this way. I know he has done it before.

Goddamn this just adds to a miserable season and embarrassing period for the team I love so much. Dark days at the moment.

If Huberdeau has been complaining to Walsh, this not how you effect change. Having Walsh go public is only going to alienate Huberdeau with Sutter and Treliving. All this does is create unneeded drama to for a team that is struggling to make a playoff spot.

I mean if we're going to talk about conducting one's self professionally and with decorum through the media I think you can make a solid case Darryl has done a much worse job of that than Huberdeau this year, and without even using an agent as proxy.

Huberdeau is freshly off a contract that now guarantees generational wealth, yet he's proven nothing. Won nothing. Talked the talk all summer, but couldn't walk the walk when it came time to do it. And now has an agent cradling him like a parent.

The least Sutter can expect from Huberdeau is to be a professional, play the Sutter way like a professional making $10.5M playing a children's game, and not have his agent whine on social media for him.

Also, I'm quite well aware of Walsh's history, thank you
Honestly I would argue up to this point Huberdeau has been a lot more professional than Sutter has been this season.

If anyone has been lacking professionalism this season it's been Sutter.

The comments about Huberdeau taking a ####, the Pelletier press conference, how he handled the question when asked about Phillips.

Sutter has been a grumpy crank all season that hasn't acted professionally IMO.

If Gaudreau was able to respond positively to a Sutter coached team and launch himself into a stellar season then Huberdeau can too

Needs to reframe his situation and his attitude

Sutter isn't going to break into song and dance just to cheer everybody up

Need to band together and play for each other, rather than this sad collection of individuals. That team spirit and camraderie is missing

Yeah I don’t really get the siding with Sutter and crapping on Huberdeau for this.

Huberdeau isn’t the reason this team is bad and playing painful to watch hockey. Huberdeau isn’t overseeing both of his goalies from last season completely fall off the map.

We knew Sutter had a shelf life - I just don’t think we foresaw it being this short.

Gaudreau bailed on the Flames as soon as he could, as did Tkachuk - and Tkachuk more or less openly noted how much love he didn’t have for Darryl. Darryl is hard on players, I absolutely believe he factored into their decisions.

I remember with the Bennett situation he said something along the lines of “I decide when a players stops playing here and not their agent.”

Some good storylines going into the weekend though.
Life is already miserable for these guys, nothing will change. Darryl never talks about the “unfinished business” anymore, ever. What a shame.

It's not Sutter look what we did last year. Sorry but Marky confidence has sunk the teams ability to play in front of him

How much was Gaudreau and Tkachuk responding positively to a Sutter coached team...vs how much was them wanting to get huge pay days as UFAs.

I'm not sure we can use the season Gaudreau and Tkachuk had as a positive indicator for Sutter as a coach...both guys got the hell out of dodge the first opportunity they got.

Tkachuk has actually thrown some shade Sutters way "Maurice is the best coach I've ever played for" before he even played a game for him.

Gaudreau hasn't really said a thing about Sutter.

I think we had two guys last year that went into business for themselves, and then got as far away from Sutter as they could.

And I've posted this before but outside of Gaudreau+Tkachuk+Lindholm this team wasn't very good last year under Sutter either.

5v5 With Gaudreau or Tkachuk on the ice: GF - 102, GA - 42, +60

5v5 Without Gaudreau or Tkachuk on the ice: GF - 94, GA-97, -3

If anything Gaudreau+Tkachuk are the ones that carried Sutter to the Jack Adams trophy last year...not the other way around. If anything this team this year looks a lot like this team did last year when those two aren't on the ice.

I'm going to side with the player here and say Sutter can #### off.

Huberdeau sucks this year but you can see he's trying hard to fit into Sutter's system and has been a pro about it. Sutter always tries to be the smartest guy in the room. His comments about Pelletier after his first game, his insistence on playing Lucic, Lewis and Ritchie over Ruzicka, Duehr and Phillips, his splits for Markstrom and Vladar, etc. He's as much the problem as the players that are struggling.

I don't doubt at all that the players are miserable playing for him. When things are bad, Sutter is insufferable. At the end of the day, they're playing a game for entertainment and there's absolutely no fun watching these guys play.

Fire Sutter. Trade as many players for futures as possible. Have Muller run the bench for the rest of the season and find a new GM and head coach in the summer.

I believe Sutter is very good coach and he has own way or big experience to make the team better. May be he has a communication problem with the players or some players doesn't really like his way to communicate.
I think he can make a bad team a playoff or average team. But he need elite talented team to become a champion. He is not magician anyway.

Honestly, I'm surprised Sutter hasn't said much worse about the top guys and am quite disappointed by it.

Also the Pelletier situation was/is hilarious. Media takes that opportunity to go full attack mode on Sutter and then immediately follows it with barely covering his 15-minute retort the next morning, Pelletier's first goal, or all the positive comments Sutter's made about his game since then, or the fact he's been a staple with Huberdeau & Kadri for a good number of games now.

They only get excited to cover the Flames when Sutter walks the edges a bit.

Media is funny.

“Nightmare fuel” as Boomer put it the other day.

The start of this 9 year relationship is nightmare fuel. The fact that the Flames committed to a team built on 30+ year old highly paid UFAs to try and win “now” and are having this type of first season?

Nightmare fuel.
