In that case Andersson likely plays.

I find myself in the strange position of hoping the Flames lose against another bottom feeder. Any hope that Treliving has that a trade could salvage this season needs to be snuffed out.

What a fun way to be a fan. I'm hoping they continue to play like they did the last two games but with Vladar in net and the dominant 5 on 5 play is the new season talking point. Have fun hoping for losses though. Must be a joy!

Nah. I could never cheer for losses no matter how aggravating this team makes me.

Bite me. There are "fans" on this site that love to wallow in the team's misery. That is not me. I just don't want this team paying up for a deadline rental and missing the playoffs/getting smoked in the first round.

90.

Marky can get the remaining starts after we clinch, while Dan rests

I'm likely one of the biggest pessimists on this board, but screw it...I want this team just to get in, then anything can happen.

Our advanced stats are up there with the top teams in the league. If we can get decent goaltending (ideally Vladar) and perhaps add a scorer, you never know. I like our brand of hockey in a 7 game series.

So let's hope that it's at least a 45 minute effort and not a 30, 15, etc. 60 is impossible.
Not sure we know that.

I personally don't think effort has been an issue much at all this season.

They are tied for the last playoff spot. Hoping for losses? Nah. As frustrating as this season has been, I'd much rather watch playoff hockey versus the alternative. Playoff hockey is fun. Waiting for the draft lottery is not as much fun.

So is this your hurdle to be happy? Because you're setting yourself up for abject failure if you think Markstrom will be essentially abandoned for the rest of the season.

This team is bound to go on a run at some point this season....right? I get the disappointment on Huby and Markstrom, but we are right in the thick of it and have barely had a hot streak....I'll take this any day over the "rebuild year" so many are salivating over around here. A lot of teams rebuild and....still don't make the playoffs.

Detroit isn't a bottom feeder.
They have as many wins as Calgary, they're 5 games over .500, in the playoff hunt with games in hand, and are playing well.

hope for losses all you want, but Detroit is not a bottom feeding pushover.

When has Sutter ever just started a goalie for 90 percent of the games in his coaching career? Did it happen with Kipper? Or with Quick?

He did it with kipper for 3 straight years.

Games started from 06-07 to 08-09:
74
76
76

Came pretty close in the years bookending those too with 73 & 72 starts
