I still just look at the Flames and think “hey, you still need to hit the cap floor”.

In the next 12 months the Flames need to:

1. Trade Lindholm
2. Trade Tanev
3. Trade Hanifin
4. Trade Toffoli
5. Trade Lucic
6. Trade Zadarov

6 pieces to trade away that should kick start the rebuild handsomely. Huberdeau and Kadri can ride out their paydays for a few years, before we get to the point where we can retain some salary and dump them.

A 12 month tear down of this team followed by 3 years of tanking. The dream.

My wife - a confirmed non-fan of hockey decided to watch the game for a bit. Her comments:
- they're slow
- can anyone actually pass?
- all their shots are weak and from far out, how do they expect to score?
- no one goes to the net
- they're passing all around the boards again
