He was fine.

But my take is some of those saves look tougher than they should have been because of the issues mentioned above.

When a goalie is on everything looks effortless. They are big in their net and crisp and compact in their movement .

Markstrom is the opposite right now. Everything looks hard.

He's deep and small in his net. Late to react on pucks, and his lateral movement is chaotic.

I have no idea why Markstrom got the start.

I don't think Huby's forgot how to play. I just don't think he fits under Sutter

Yup. I wasn’t worried at all about that puck sitting there - easy pickup for the D. Until i saw how slow he reacted and where he was.

The good (?) news is that he has lots of time to turn out around here! 8 more years in fact!
I really hope he actually does, but his first season here has not given much hope.

You call it lucky I call it smart. I don't think he is non factor tonight. There were more players who's non factor than Mangiapane tonight.

He’s not been himself all season. But this game was at least him fighting through it. And his team let him down (again).

Yup I'll agree with that tonight for sure. He really fought tonight...which is a good sign because there have been times this year where I thought he quit on some plays a little.

Horrible game from Kadri.
Mangiapane skates away as Lafreniere wins it in overtime.
Trouba with two devastating open ice hits and won fights. Lucic blown up by Blais but gave him a scary glare afterwards.

What is this team's strength?
Losing winnable games.

Our org is in such a state that we have a goalie that wins and a goalie that loses and we just can’t figure out which one we should play

If the flames can show the necessary emotion in games down the stretch against some very bad teams, that is not that tough of a record to get to.

Flames have done a fine job keeping games close and getting to OT. 3 on 3, they’re a tire fire but that really means nothing come April.
The way they played Chicago had destroyed my confidence literally.

Entertaining game. Feel bad for markstrom on the last 2 goals. Backs leaves zib alone in front. OT, markstrom gets his revenge on Zib , only to have zadarov go for a leisure skate behind the net on the rebound.

If that play was in regulation, I could understand it; throw a shot on net when you've got a guy going to the front to create some traffic. Maybe you get lucky and it goes in, or one of your other 4 teammates on the ice cleans up a rebound.

In OT though, when you live or die by maintaining possession and you really only have one teammate who could possibly retrieve the puck, it's just such a bad choice.

To reach 17-10-4 the team would have to be the best they’ve been all season. I just don’t really see it happening - especially if Tree doesn’t add to the team, as the teams ahead of us undoubtedly will add.

The team has been performed pretty consistently all season. They are where they deserve to be.
