Below Cousins? What has Cousins done that Dak hasn't? Theyve both had top tier RB/WR/TE combos that they failed, along with a good supporting defense.

Id say Cousins and Dak are comfortably hand in hand in their tier of "cant win the big game"

Cousins overall career is clearly superior to Dak's. That neither "can win the big game" is what ties them together, but Cousins plays the position better than Dak. It's sort of splitting hairs, but I'd have Cousins in the top half of the league, like 13th, and Dak in the bottom half, like 18th. You don't really want either as your QB, you'd rather have Peterman cause he'll get you the #1 overall pick and a chance at a real QB.

What also ties them together is both teams are struck with them, although Dak is much harder to move on from with more dead money and a no trade. If Dak's contract weren't so terrible I could see Brady ending up in Dallas to try and ride that defense to one more ring.

Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl running back Tony Pollard suffered a fractured left fibula Sunday that will require surgery, sources said.

Pollard's injury could not have come at a worse time for the Cowboys or for him.

He is scheduled to be an unrestricted free agent in March and had the best season of his career. In 16 regular-season games, Pollard had 1,007 yards on 193 carries. He scored 12 touchdowns this season, surpassing the total he had in his first three seasons. He was named to the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career.
Ouch.

I think you can win a Super Bowl with Cousins. He needs a great OC and top 3 defense to do so but it's possible.

You can't say the same about Dak.

I don't think you can win with either at their current pay level. It's when you get these guys on the cheap like the Seahawks did with Geno that you can maybe win with them with money available to put into other positions.

And Dak has a $49 million cap hit next year. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/dallas-c...rescott-19089/

They pretty much have to bring him back next season because of the dead cap hit.

Kurt Cousins should quite comfortably be seen as a top 10 QB in the league and I do think in the right situation he could win a Super Bowl.

https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/who...e-last-3-years

His biggest issue is him and his coaching staff have probably played too safe come playoff time. It's a fine balance but you need to take a little risk offensively to win come playoff time.

Personally I think he's a lot better than Dak.

Do they draft a QB in the 1st round?

I think they’ll go WR in the first round and look for a QB that they can develop in the third-fourth round.

Cardinals are apparently back in the Sean Payton sweepstakes, will interview him. (I know this is more NFL Season Thread talk, but it seemed to move to this thread over the weekend).

I highly doubt they will as I'm sure Jerry think's their window is open and they will take the BPA that fills a pressing need. I will give the Cowboys credit in that they have been one of the better drafting teams over the last decade or so.

I think there are valid parallels between Stafford and Dak.

Maybe a trade would work out well for Dak like it did for Matt. Not likely to happen though.

Hard to imagine Dak landing in a better situation than the one he has in Dallas. Perennially great offensive line, solid platoon of running backs, plenty of talent at WR, good offensive coordinator. IMO there's nowhere to go but down for him.

Dak is the king of putting up gaudy stats against weak teams, none of this surprises me. very overrated partially because he is on the Cowboys

The story of Cousins' career is throwing 3yd passes on 4th and 8's
Cousins stellar playoff record of 1-4 doesn't inspire confidence. I think he's better than Dak. This is not the right bar though

Sounds like potentially some momentum between the Texans and Ryans. Not going to get my hopes up yet.

Cousins almost always loses when facing teams with winning records. I don't know if it's been updated this season but over his career he is 10-40 (.200) against teams that finished the season with a winning record. Tall task to expect him to win three straight playoff games required to win a Super Bowl.

So this tweet remains up. Totally true and all that, but from the official team account you'd expect more "softening".
