Aside from the Sutter soap opera I thought it was an entertaing game. Fights, hits, intensity, goals, some good saves.

It had a bit of everything.

Over 700 posts and only 12 of them about the win.

It was probably the most fun game of the season. It had it all. Swapping leads, intensity, animosity, a couple of former Panthers procuring their own forms of Floridian Vengeance...

It was great!

Fun game, embarrassing PGT.

I guess even these PGTs following a win aren't worth participating in anymore.

Well then it just becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

4 losing records in 19 seasons thus far. It doesnt happen often.

205-137-53 as Flame HC including both tours of duty.

Not bad.

The guy hasn't won the cup for us, but only one other coach has. Anyone calling for his head better have a 30min youtube analysis/breakdown video and an excel spreadsheet / powerbi visualization comparing and contrasting why he's below the median of NHL coaches, or even out of the top quartile. Because they can't prove their point looking at the wins and losses. Guy is a winner for us, and likely our best coach in franchise history.

Just watched the clip...

I just don't see what the fuss is all about. First, he reaches for the stat sheet and reads it out, as an answer to the question 'how did he do"'. Then he says he's 21, 'long ways to go' with a smile on his face. I did not get any impression of a put down - it sounded to me like 'long ways to go' as in 'first game of his career, he has a whole bunch of games to go'.

Nothing negative, condescending, or rude there, whatsoever.

Some of you REALLY need to relax and stop trying to start a war with every comment uttered.

Watched it again this am as well. Impression I got is he knew he was going to get a bunch of questions about him as he has with Phillips, Zahorna, Duehr, Ruzicka. He’s probably tired of the over focus on the young players and tried to make light of it. It just didn’t go over well.

You get stuck in front of the media every day for decades and sooner or later you’re going to say something that people don’t like. It’s inevitable.

Now someone put Sutter's face on Thanos and we're essentially done here.

But all our guys are north/south guys who like generating off the dump and chase and the cycle.

Thought the Flames overall played well. Seemed like Vladar had to make about 8 or 9 big time saves, he may not have faced the shot volume but he made a number of timely saves. 8-0-3 in his last 11, nice to have a backup keep us in the playoff hunt. Backlund line was great again, generated a lot 5 on 5. Lindholm’s line had a pretty good game too. Thought the Kadri line was the weakest of the top 3, but once they get their north/south game going with a solid dump and chase and grind it out on the wall they will hit their stride.
Wait, being fast is a negative now?

Some of you are so desperate to criticize this team that you are going to try and argue that speed may be detrimental? God help us.

Definitely one of the best performances of the year from the guys. Their defensive zone coverage was absolutely stifling. Stamkos took advantage of a fortuitous bounce - good for him. And they got lucky with the goal off the skate, but fortunately we got that bounce back and otherwise dominated most of the game.

It's a nothing issue.

It's a reporter and a bunch of PGT posters who were raised in the Safe Space era. And Francis.

If this type of silliness gets to either Jakob or Coronato, they aren't tough enough to play in the NHL anyway.

Do you think maybe you're being a little too critical of that post? The entire post you quoted is largely positive. Honestly seems like a reach to even call what you highlighted being negative. Just seemed like a guy pointing something out he thought might be an issue?

Odd take.

First of all, your bias is showing.

Second, do you have any actual evidence that the median age on CP is higher than on twitter?

Third, even if it is, so what?

Yeah, I keep seeing the suggestion that he was somehow mocking Pelletier, and I just don't see it.

I guess you could hear the "what number is he?" comment and interpret it as "why are you asking about someone so inconsequential that I can't even remember his number?" rather than taking it at face value where he's looking at a game summary sheet that has the players listed by number and he can't find Pelletier's name.

The comment about him being 21 with a long way to go sounds positive to me. You don't say something like about a player who you don't think has a future.

The most-annoying thing about Francis is he spends the first half of his story complaining that Sutter's comments made it impossible for him to write the feel-good story about Pelletier's first game that he wanted to, then he spends the second half of the story writing that feel good story about Pelletier's first game with quotes from his teammates and such.

Also, his suggestion that Sutter sent Muller to do the presser on Friday because he didn't want to have to say positive things about Pelletier ahead of his first game is so ridiculous Francis should be embarrassed for even thinking it, especially when you consider Sutter spent a significant percentage of his presser on Tuesday speaking very highly of Pelletier.
