Generally, but with a lackluster prospect pool and an old roster, I don't think we can be in on these deals, as much as 'win now' is our FO and ownership mantra right now.

At some point cheap, entry-level talent needs to graduate onto this roster to add some flexibility with the expensive contract extensions set to kick in and pending decisions on Hanifin and Lindholm.

They are at #25, and the Flames have yet to appear.

I'm going to predict they come in at #23.

they set up a good system with the trial period --> annual charge to snatch money from bored fans looking for a one time read in the offseason

also doesn't even recognize you without you digging up your login if you go back to read an article whilst subscribed

I use the app and have signed up for subjects and authors I enjoy so it pushes the content to me.

To be clear, I attribute it almost entirely to lack of draft picks. I think the amateur scouting is an organizational strength.

I never renew mine, I cancel just before it expires, go for a few months without it, and then they give me a heavy discount to renew.

Canadiens send the Panthers 2023 1st round pick to Florida for Bennett.

Canadiens send Anderson & Gallagher to the Flames for Huberdeau

Basis is that Huberdeau is not going to be worth the $10M/yr contract and the Flames want to get out from it as soon as possible.

While I do not think Huberdeau will be worth 10M/yr at all, this is a horrible trade for the Flames. Sure, we will not have a potential(only potential due to this seasons results so far) anchor of a contract for 8 plus years, but to get Anderson and Gallagher does very little for the team offensively. This would have been a trade that would have helped Calgary get the Bedard pick, had it been the beginning of the year.
