I think both on-ice and community work should have been considered. Lanny and Iggy are both fine for that.

If anything? Do you not recall him being featured in certain chants on the red mile?

The worst was that Button paid him to go away when he wasn't claimed in the expansion draft.

St. Louis- Savard- Iginla could have been the best line in the league.

Though I think Cliff Fletcher is easily one of the top four Flames in terms of what he accomplished with the franchise, I do appreciate that the top four did not include any who had valid contracts they refused to honour, demanded to be traded, or took less money to sign elsewhere when given an opportunity.
Nieuwendyk, Gilmour, Gaudreau, Tkachuk are four who made a significant effort to leave the Flames. I think they blew their opportunity for an honour like this.

Coulda kept Brett Hull but may not have a cup if they did
Didn't keep Martin St. Louis

How about trading up for Trevor Kidd instead of keeping their pick and taking Brodeur?

Never faulted them for that
Kidd was the better prospect. Didn’t turn out that way but at the time it was a perfectly fine decision

I would go with a spot for McDonald's mustache. Just his mustache, as it was glorious!

You'd think that Flames fans would know what really went on there.
St.Louis was passed over in the expansion draft and then passed through waivers. Nobody wanted him, he was under performing, small and lazy. After that complete rejection he totally changed his life and dedicated himself to being a better player, he started a ridiculous training regime where he got tree trunk legs, watch some of the youtube videos. If the Flames had retained him it's highly unlikely that he ever gets to the heights he reached. The only "hindsight" win would be keeping him off the 2004 Lightning team, pretty bloody ridiculous to blame Button for that.
