Wow. Am I the only on who laughed at his joke? I feel like such a neanderthal.

Of course Rerun thinks its funny. He's on another thread right now calling muslims all sorts of nice things. What do you expect from a guy like that?

Of course it's a wide brush, we in Canada, get painted with it a lot of times. Don't get your panties in a knot, not being able to laugh at yourself only adds to your reputation.

Reading LAFF's story makes me glad I've got U.S. citizenship by default.. Dad's American.

Took me half an hour to apply for my passport and social security #

Wow, thanks for all the replies and info so far guys and gals, much appreciated. I will be pm ing some of you for more particular details as well.

Here is some info on my background, in addition I will put some info for a cousin of mine whom wants to head south as well.

I have my commerce degree, major marketing, with 8 plus years of territory management work experience. I do have access to some funds that would allow myself to open up a small business perhaps if need be as well.

My cousin doesnt have a degree, so I would assume that it may be a little more difficult for him to move south.

You got through the grinder in three months after JUST getting married? Wow on all accounts. It takes longer than that to run a background check on most people. How did you accomplish that?
I didn't go through a lawyer and did all the paperwork myself. It was a matter of having every piece of documentation they required and throwing in a couple of extra copies just in case.
At my interview the officer suggested that since I didn't have a criminal record of any kind it definitely helped with the background checks.

I couldn't work while the process was taking place so I spent a lot of time visiting with immigration officers in Omaha. I think the constant badgering might have helped as well.
