I’m insulted by the fact your posts continually pretend like us nudists just don’t exist. It’s exclusionary and offensive. Be better Sliver.

I really haven’t followed the forecast, but I did think it was supposed to be warmer today. I guess not…it’s super cold again.

It's supposed to get a bit warmer today, around -25, with the wind dropping off, too.
Tomorrow around -20
Then -1 for Saturday.

There's no point, you just said "very few people have experienced -30 this week unless you're outside between 3 and 5 am", but it's -30 right now at 9 am and was yesterday too, so most people working normal hours this week would have experienced it.
You also ask why it's being discussed... Tuesday was the coldest December day in over 20 years, and the lowest recorded windchill since 2008. So it is an unusually cold trend and perhaps worth discussing in a thread whose sole purpose is to discuss the weather.

But people aren’t really discussing the record cold snap. They’re arguing about -30 vs +30.

This is of course true, but yet in the depths of winter, Albertans flock in droves to southern 30° climates where they are more likely to die, and in the summer when it's 30° in Calgary the travel trend is overwhelmingly to other Canadian locales or Europe where it's also 30° instead of to Antarctica.
Bunch of death seekers, Albertans are... with this absurd preference for +30 over -30. They should be educated.

Also as someone who loves animals, I feel especially horrible for strays in this weather. Wild animals too, but they know how to hide in this better. Someone posted an image in this or a previous iteration of this thread a few years ago of a frozen to death stray cat with their frozen to death kittens, it's forever etched in my brain.
I always think of that when it's brutally cold like this, and I'm assuming it's happening en masse during cold snaps. -30 can #### right off for what it does to strays.

Yeah, that's sad.
Just like in the summer all the animals who burn to death during the forest fire season when it's hot and there's no rain. Poor things.

I’m trying to figure out what point you’re trying to make here. That a lot of people prefer +30 over -30? Hasnt that been pretty well established without needing the sarcasm/fake persecution complex?
First you struggled to understand how anyone could prefer dealing with -30 over +30, and that was explained to you, and now you’re pretending that others have trouble understanding that some people prefer +30 over -30? lol

I walk my dog around the dogpark twice everyday, I don't remember a single time last summer cursing out loud and running home in pain, as I did yesterday.

Your endless arrogance and condescension always makes me smile, but I am at peace by virtue of being a normal person. I had to show everyone at the office just to make sure I hadn't gone insane; we've had a great laugh at the takes in this thread.

Just wear more clothes, my friend. These are prime conditions.

Once Pepsi gets invested in a topic, any amount of reasoning with him is futile. Just let him have his small victories so it doesn't sidetrack the thread for days on end.

lololololol. Are you serious? It's not painful. You just didn't dress for the conditions.
Do you also go outside in the summer with no shirt, no hat, no sunglasses and no sunscreen and then flap around screaming when you get a sunburn?
Like, give me a break. If you're running home swearing and in pain, it's because you didn't dress warm enough. Do you want me to come over and give you some tips and tricks? Like, if you've lived here more than one year you should have all the clothes you'll need to comfortably handle -30 without batting an eyelash.
And I'm not buying this BS about warm clothes only being for the rich. Fata right off with that. Go to Value Village or Plato's Closet (I was just there last week) and you'll find a never-ending supply of cheap winter clothes. Or Man of Distinction - I just traded in my old North Face jacket...it could still be there if you need it. They'll probably sell it to you for $35. Kijiji, too. My son's current winter jacket was bought off there for next to nothing. It's preposterous to claim you can't dress warm enough for the conditions this week. Like, annoyingly so.
I can accept not liking -30. That's reasonable. I don't like it, either (but prefer it to +30, to be clear), but FFS if you're not smart enough to dress warm enough for it that's on you planning poorly in the same way a four-year-old might. Take some personal responsibility FFS.
I assume you're an adult. You should be embarrassed telling all us you got mad at the weather because you didn't dress warm enough. Reminds me of when my daughter was two and she'd literally get mad at the sun for "buggin' her eyes."

Yes, dress warmer. I'm glad you finally understand. Not a tough concept once you get it, eh?

I think he is serious.
If Sliver is so confident and comfortable in his preference of -30 over +30, it seems unnecessarily defensive to point out that animals also die in fires, as if that somehow negates the fact that they might also die in the cold.
"Oh, cats also die in fires? Forget I said anything about the frozen ones, then..."
