Olive lover myself here, I have always noticed that olives with the pits in them have greater flavour in them than pitted olives.

So you have to pick out the seed AND they have more olivey flavour? Why would you do that to yourself?

have you considered coating yourself in olive oil to help your dry skin?

I don't like olives but maybe it's like the bone in the meat thing?

I guess they technically have some residual pit flavour. It is unseemly to eat a greek salad or something and have to work this olive around in your mouth and spit out the pit. Even more annoying is that you don’t immediately expect that someone would put un-pitted olives into a dish.
Don’t serve food that needs to be picked at, like fish with bones still in it or silver skin from ribs. Nobody likes eating something and then having to pull little inedible bits out of their mouth at the table.

I prefer salad olives to have the pits removed but, worse for me as far as food faux pas go, is leaving the shrimp tails on when the shrimp is in a sauce.

Lol! We did the same thing in October and then we got back to Calgary...

He never advised sensitivity training or anything like that, so I'm prone to not try and do something dumb to my kid and just follow his advice about aversion for now

Did he deliver the news?

Westjet is a scum company. I understand there are weather issues. Customer service doesn't need to be non-existent or worse as my kid found out.
Agent told her there's no way she could get on a particular flight (which I ended up booking her on), then proceeded to tell her she might not get home for Christmas and that her luggage would likely be lost.
So far today she has stood in line for 3 hours and been on hold for 2.5 hours not including the time to go through security twice.

From last Xmas to about February/March of this year, their wait times were about 8 hours on the phone to talk to a WestJet agent.
They were also canceling lots of flights that they had sold (if they didn't sell out), knowing full well they couldnt staff them (essentially bait and switch), rebooking people on unwanted routes/times that didnt work for them.
Westjet has been as scummy of a company as another other company out there for a long, long time.

I have a sinking feeling that I'm going to be bumped in a few days while WestJet clears whatever backlog these cancellations are creating.
Did you have any luck getting some compensation?

No. And not holding my breath. I tried last year and they just said it was out of their control. I may still escalate that one to Cda Transportation Agency.

I find it oddly suspicious that Air Canada seems less affected than Westjet right now. There was some rumours about it being staffing related, maybe the weather in Vancouver stuff is to cover their butts from the air passenger rights laws.
