Once upon a time...I think Sutter does well on the ranch, hopefully pretty soon he will be using Murray's dime to buy more cattle. Make a bunch of easy moves, free up some cap space, give Muller the reins for the rest of the season.

Dube could provide the speed and hard nose that Huberdeau has been missing this year, similar to Duclair in hubey's record setting season last year.

I agree - I think Huberdeau needs someone with speed to open up seams in the defense for all of his passes to work.

Toffoli is a good player, but he doesn’t work on a line where neither Huberdeau or Lindholm are speedsters.

Curious to see this new group though - that’s a reason to watch enough for me.

its not converting to wins so clearly he isn't doing something right here

I've said before he's a brilliant mentor for individual players and may be second to none at helping individuals excel but I think he is a little behind on what the current nhl has become in terms of rosters and lines and I think there are a number of instances where he has made misguided decisions maybe because he sees something that just isn't there with this group and needs to re-evaluate his approach

I don't need to be paid millions to tell you Backlund won't make a good third shooter and is a poor bet to help you win a skills competition

Is it the coach's fault when the shooters keep missing the net, when players lose their coverage in the defensive zone, or when the goalie lets in a softie?

As for: 'is behind on what the current NHL has become', if true, then he has become so since last season. That's quite a swift drop-off.

I don't bash either, the rest of the crew around here get that done pretty well. I have only said that I don't like Sutter as the head coach of this version of the Flames and I don't like Markstrom as the starter. Sutter needs to go and I would move Markstrom for picks.
