No, that's not good at all when the league average is 3.18 this season. We need more goals, and we need them more consistently.

Down to 92% capacity this year, bottom third of the league
This isn't completely because of the style of play, but I know anecdotally people I talk to (Including myself) have less and less interest in going to games this year as the season has progressed and use the term 'boring' a lot.

% capacity, sure. Pure numbers what are they, 14th league-wide? Flames have the ~6th largest capacity building in the league.

I believe the 1st round pick from the Flames is only protected if they fall down to 10th position or lower (9 thru 1). So, if it's protected from Montreal, the Habs will get the Flames 2024 1st round pick. Heck anything from 1-10 in 2023 would be great considering Tre has basically traded away the futures to Montreal for 2023 or 2024 (2023 1st for Tiffoli) and 2025 (1st to have Montreal take on Monahan's contract). It's a deep draft as well. So, if they fall anywhere outside of that 10th spot, the Habs gets the Flames pick, which'll suck if it turns out to be a good prospect.
So, I won't be disappointed if the Flames don't make the playoffs this year and drop to being the 10th or worse worst team for 2023 Entry Level Draft. Just hope they do it right when that happens. Don't get me wrong, we lost two great players and restocked with good talent back. It just takes time to get the chemistry back. It's no better time to go one step further and restock in 2023 if that talent pool is there for the pickings.

It’s not a 2023 pick, it’s a 2025 pick with a condition that could make it a 2024 pick.

been that way since the hot start and the oilers attendance has been right there with us. Calgary home attendance to date speaks to economic situation of the province mostly

I honestly don't think it's the system that's the issue but frankly the players ability to execute offensively. Which we knew was going to be tough this year, it's just proven to been even tougher than imagined. The way people talk sometimes you'd think Sutter was asking them trap all game, and I really don't see that. It's smart two way play. Because it's (usually) as Darryl said a 3-2 league

Flames still would have picked Bennett, so it's a moot point.
The point is, don't cheer for your team to be losers.

Nevermind - I've got too many got too many dates mixed up. I guess Tre can still trade the Flames 2023 draft pick away. These kind of things only happens with the Flames in a good draft year.

The 1st for Toffoli was used in 2022. The 1st with Monahan will be 2024 or 25

LOL, I might agree with you on the pick for Bennett but I think the Flames were in on Drai all the way. I mean the stupid Oilers got Pool Party when Tkachuk was there for the taking.
I'd still cheer for the Flames even if they're on the losing side but it'll be good if they're on the winning side of the draft pick for once in their whole franchise here in Calgary. Hell, McDavid and Drai back to back picks for Calgary would've be champions with the Flames by now.

Problem with being mediocre, the first round picks take elite scouting and the Flames have a habit of trading down in the 1st round instead of up.
