This team has zero swagger. They dont even look like they are having fun. They dont even seem happy when they score. Its like watching English Premier League soccer. They play slow. No crispness and structure like we had last year. Say what you want about Johnny and Tkachuk but they looked like they loved playing. We played so much faster and balls out despite the lack of playoff success those two played with so much passion and drive last year and were gamebreakers along with Lindholm everyone seemed to be having fun and smiling... Especially Lindholm. I watch the highlight packs around the league and good young guys are scoring beautiful goals and looks like they are having fun. Just watch tonights Ottawa highlights. The Flames just dont. Its perplexing even when they are winning

Markstrom is not having a good season, let’s stop sugar-coating it.
Martin numbers inflated by the lack of quality chances and shots from low danger areas by Calgary.

Neither goalie was amazing tonight, but Martin let in two soft goals. I stand by that 100%.

Did Markstrom let in two soft goals? Not in my book.

Top line has been a bust, there’s no sugarcoating it. Huby is struggling in this new system. Lindholm-Toffoli didn’t work last year either.

What a difference from last year when the top line was dominant and basically stayed intact the entire year.

Advanced metrics put Markstrom at pretty much the bottom of the starting goalies. Goal #2 in particular could have easily been saved if he wasn't needlessly on his knees. He overplayed the third goal and like usual got beat glove high being too deep in his net

Good goalies make hard saves look easy. Markstrom makes every shot look like a snipe because he can't play his angles properly.

Neither team dominated.

The Canucks played a cleaner game and didn't give up the puck like the Flames did but that's not domination.

If you don’t screw around for the first 5 mins and let them score twice that’s a win.

The bad starts are killing the season. They just stood around and watched the Canucks to start the game. Totally unacceptable. Lazy. Start the ####ing game on time.

Was the best line in the NHL.

It's ok to admit the team is not good and the coach has no clue what he is doing.
Didn't say the Flames dominated tonight. It was a sloppy game on both ends. It got decided in a shootout. It was close. So we certainly didn't get "smoked" as you put it and no one jumped over us tonight or recently either.

“Martin’s numbers are inflated by the fact we are a black hole offensively.”

Well, that makes me feel a whole lot better.

I honestly question how anyone can be an optimist at this point? Dino7c for example.

What have you seen or do you see in this team that makes you think they can turn it around?

We simply aren’t skilled enough in an era where skill rules the game.

Bad goalies make the other teams shots look good. Markstrom allowed 3 goals on 2.86 expected.Martin let in 3 goals on 3.77 expected. And those numbers are worse for Markstrom if you exclude OT, which the Flames would not have been playing in if he played better than Martin in regulation.

This has been the story all year long, and I think you only need to watch how the Flames play in front of Markstrom vs. Vladar to see how they feel about it.

Can we trade Huberdeau or has his contract destroyed that option?
I know it's hignsight but not signing him and trading him at the deadline was the move.
This team is done for years.

I'm an optimist.

This team is far more talented than they have been showing so far

Costs nothing to be an optimist and it’s more fun. No sense in watching the games and following the team if it isn’t fun.
