I’ll bet. An NDP idea of economic stability is doing absolutely nothing with the exception of dumping money and focus on anything green without thought. Not a way for Alberta to return to prosperity. Despite the tone or general sentiment in this thread I believe most Albertans know this and will ultimately be reluctant to vote Orange when push comes to shove this spring. They lucked into power in 2015 then promptly and soundly lost the next time out. They are more of a threat this time and the conservatives know it. Expect the Ucp to reign in the leader and tone down some of her personal view as they win back the moderate middle in the next 6 months.
It should be pretty clear by now to all but the most diehard potato brains that Smith doesn't really understand how anything works, and she just makes #### up as she goes. That, combined with her admitted distaste for the advice of experts in fields she does not understand should be a pretty big red flag, but apparently some still think she is qualified for the job. This really baffles me.

Couldn't be more wrong.
Look at the PDP program, precursor to the current APIP program. Petrochemical Diversification Program did sprinkle money on attracting projects, but not because they were green, because they offered value add diversification for the region. Best example is the $5 billion Interpipeline Heartland Petrochemical Complex, which did receive funding through PDP and transforms captive propane from the region into Polypropylene for export.
The UCP that you seem to believe will reign in the Premier don't really exist anymore. The power structure has been gutted. The loonies are running the show right now, which is why they look so horribly disorganized and not seem to understand how government works (in spite still being the party that has governed the province for essentially 50 years uninterrupted.)

I’m sure the UCP with reign-in the leader they selected for these exact views and promises ahead of other potential leaders with more moderate conservative views.
That definitely seems true and logical.

She didn't actually say that, it was more along the lines of "some of them spend just a little bit too much time dabling in the same circles as folks who have some deeply offence and racist ideas" but you can guarantee we now get this tossed in the Rebel Media clip mangler. Around 18:30.

Come on now, we need to get her a chance.
It would be completely unfair of us to assume she means any of the things she's been saying for years on her radio show, then used as a platform to get elected leader of the party, and so far has actually followed through on.
She's gonna govern from the middle, you'll see.

Smith apologized Wednesday, saying that was not her intention and that she was merely stating both Alberta and First Nations share a common adversary as they assert independence in their areas of authority.
