What’s the comparison? Gets traded with extras for a much older player?

Yeah I guess, the difference is Thompson always had value. His floor was always a very effective 3rd liner that could play up the lineup, obviously we are seeing his ceiling. JP’s floor is not even being in the NHL and his ceiling is really 3rd line at best. There is absolutely no basis whatsoever to be comparing these two players, unless you are tainted with the delusion of being an Oiler fan.

They seem to forget that Toronto wasn't willing to budge from a 3rd round pick when they signed Hyman, which would have lowered his cap hit around 700k. That was for a player Toronto knew they were losing and still didn't budge on their demand to help Edmonton lower the cap hit.
A team eating a great deal more than 700k will cost a team dearly. No team is going out of their way to help other teams against the cap. Any GM that does, will probably not be a GM much longer.

Its the ultimate in rose clouded glasses.
In reality if anybody says "Hey we will take Puljujarvi plus (insert any draft pick you can think of)" they should start yelling "Start the car!!!"

Not even Edmonton. She says she bought a condo a half hour south of the city, so probably Leduc.
The funniest part of it is that she complains about the lack of nightlife, then says she likes to spend her Friday nights at Cactus Club, and she missed places like Joey.
If banal shopping mall restaurants are your ideal night out, Edmonton should be heaven to you.

I think that was DNL, he makes up a ton of fiction that Oiler fans eat up with a spoon.

I like Klingberg, but does Edmonton need an offensive dman that isn't very good in his own end? I'm ok if this is who they are targeting. I assume they would need to add a pick and no chance they can sign him again in the off season.

they have Barrie
klingberg would be the most redundant move they could make on the blue line .. and of COURSE they would eye an offensive d-man who had issues in his own zone .. tres oileresque
not that that trade would happen in a trillion years

I guess Edmonton can't draw in the urban chic and boulevardiers crowd any more since the FCUK Store closed.

That McDavid/Gretzky MGM commercial seems like it is supposed to be light hearted, but they both come across as total dicks

The only thing that could be worse than a gambling commercial is one that has McDavid in it.

To do otherwise would have required the two of them to have some acting ability.
