Hope that the Flames have a great game and get the win. Hope Phillips has a good game, going to be an uphill battle playing with Lucic, Milan is one of the worst players in the league. Hopefully Phillips can spark something in that line.
We've also seen a player who helped the team be 7-1 in games he participated in, be benched for the other 48 games that same team went 19-26-3 in, and you yourself pointed to underlying numbers opposite a guy like Mike Stone as a reason the player was not impressive or deserving more opportunity.
I'm not overstating the bias. Playing at the bottom of the lineup as a younger player is dicey.
Who are you referring too?
You suggested Phillips would be overlooked or lost in the shuffle if Lucic makes a mistake.
I pointed out that we see players benched all the time for mistakes.
A roster decision in the past could be called a bias though, for sure ... but we all come at everything with a subjective angle. You clearly as well. Any hockey coach/executive has to apply their view to any move in or out of the lineup. How could you ever make a decision without it?
Super excited for this game...I need a serious mental health pick-me-up, as my Mom's funeral was yesterday.
Really looking forward to seeing Phillips and the first look at Johnny against his former team. Also hoping Marky can put in a solid performance against a team we should beat.

Remember when Fleury was a rookie mid-season call up? These were the lines
Patterson-----Gilmour------Mullen
Roberts-------Nieuwendyk--Loob
Peplinski------Otto----------M. Hunter/McLelland
T Hunter------Fleury--------McDonald
Fleury started as a fourth liner and found a way to be productive. Hopefully, Phillips can, too.
I cant imagine how a rising young star finds a way to be productive with a 500 career goal scorer that had produced at 17 goal / season pace over his final 3 years.
Lewis and Lucic score over the past 3 years have shown about half the productivity Lanny was showing at the time.
* Although I do agree with your point, there is no reason he can't contribute from that line with 10 mins / game. plenty of guys have.
If he comes out of the game without a minus, I'm happy.
If he comes out of the game with a plus, I'm happy.
If he comes out of the game with an assist, I'm super happy.
If he comes out of the game with a goal, I'll be ecstatic!
Even if so happened he came out of the game with a -1, I wouldn't be mad, I'm just so excited to see him in the lineup.
