Don't be. I'm a completely boring middle-aged background character. It's not exciting at all. For some reason I click on CP, but otherwise I'm an absolute basic bitch.

It isn't cold enough here to own a super warm jacket.

I kind of like walking, too, but prefer to do it by myself with headphones in.
I think sidewalks are too narrow and it grinds my gears. If I walk with my wife I have to put her on the road/gutter because my width takes up the entire sidewalk.
|
I walk with my wife and dog (I'm sure that you can relate!). You don't walk in the road though, and make your wife do that? I'm a gentleman!
We mostly walk on bike paths though, so width isn't really the issue. It's cyclists who apparently have no bell or think they're riding in the Tour de France!

Never owned a leather jacket until well after high school, sadly it wasn't an 8-ball one. Just a regular one.

I imagine that it is very hard to look really cool with your CG in backpack mode when there are normal looking people nearby for comparison.

As long as you can still flash the logo while in backpack mode then you’re still able to keep the uncool poors in their place.

My winter 'coat', every couple years I buy a new one of those fancy lined hoodies from Marks. The really puffy and / or fuzzy ones, I'm sure you've seen them. If it's really cold I'll wear a second lighter hoodie underneath. Never been too cold in this setup.
Some of you guys out here buying gear like you're hiking to the North Pole, lol.

To each their own, everyone has a different tolerance for cold.
I bought a black Columbia puffer jacket from Winners for $100 that I saw once, it's warm as ####.
Cool story, I was in the military with a guy that rarely wore more than a light rain coat on winter exercise, regardless of the temps.

That's my whole thing. Comfort is my top priority (after like health, family, friends, etc.). Like, as far as spending my disposable income I prioritize comfort items. A big warm AF parka is awesome. My adjustable bed rules. I had a baseboard heater installed in my bathroom just so I can keep it at 24° so when I get up in the morning I can just wander straight in in my ginch and still feel like I'm under a blanket. Sock suspenders. Reclining camping chairs. Sporks. Heated garage. Air conditioning. Remote-controlled black-out blinds.
If there's a way to make myself slightly more comfortable, I'm doing it every single time.

I believe it. My daughter has a friend she snowboards with and this girl does not get cold. She snowboards in a hoodie regardless of the temperature. It makes no sense. I always beg her to put on a jacket and she just fataing won't. And she's been like that since she was nine when I met her and she's 16 now. She's not even trying to be cool or a big shot or anything. Some people are weird like that, I guess.

I am kind of like that. If it is -22 and I go for a walk I get overheated and have to unzip my jacket. My ears, toes and fingers are what get cold.
I have an old Wool coat I wear in the winter most of the time. I have a Helly Hansen Ski Jacket for the really cold days. It was about $450 and is 15 years old.
