It’s easy to single out Markstrom as brutal (and he is).
But look at our forwards and all their goals.
And look at our Coach with all his decisions.
There is brutality all over the ice and on the bench.

The lines have been pretty bad since game 5, and playing Markstrom in this game was stupid. Vladar earned this start, and should keep starting until he needs a break after 4 or 5 games or he has a bad outing.
The current Flames team is not a meritocracy.

Flames forward are the problem, they don't seem to generate much at all in terms of high danger chances
2nd goal is a bad one no question, defense played it poorly and Markstrom would like to have it back

Hathaway $1.5M, UFA.
James Neal, Milan Lucic, $6M UFA.
How we ended up where we are is a dark art at its most nefarious. Bad professional scouting can do real damage.

I think Sutter has built the lines to protect Markstrom by spreading out the "responsible" forwards to every line. This kills the offense in an attempt to help Markstrom.
I'd rather lose 5-4 than 1-0. At least there is something to watch.

I miss Hathaway.
The Flames couldn't have afforded him, but he was nice to have on the 4th line.

Hathaway seems like a great person. But also props to Leslie who seems to build some pretty good relationships with players that lasts even after they are gone. He's a great interviewer.

I recall people scoffing at paying Hathaway that much to play on the 4L. And yet....

Or we can blame both.
And we can blame Sutter for this mixology of crap

If you're gonna consistently be out-goalied and struggle in the D Zone, you're gonna need to outscore those deficiencies.
If you're gonna consistently be out-chanced at High Danger and out-scored, you're gonna need to have the better D and Goaltending.
Would be really nice to dominate a game from time to time.

We didn’t seem to have any problems scoring in our first 6 games of the season. Don’t know why it’s dried up so bad now.

Yea, Leslie is one of, if not THE best in the business.
Can't ask for a better person in his role

They don't have anybody who can carry the puck into the zone. They gain the blue line, shoot it into a corner, and try to regain possession.
The Flames are missing Gaudreau big time.

I know I’ll take heat for this comment but I miss the Johnny and Tkachuk days. This team is so boring offensively. And yes I know it’s a moot point as both guys didn’t want to be here.
