I'm pretty sure if you shine a black light on room 218 in the Edmonton best western city center inn (the runway restaurant) after I split with my ex and lived there for 3 months, the reflection would be visible from outer space. The acts committed in that room would make Hefner blush in his grave.

A fairly serious case of TMI, definitely not a humble brag, not sure how it’s a “gear grinder” although evidently lots of grinding happened.

I am not sure if this is as petty as the “Happy New Years” hater, but I really loathe getting Happy Thanksgiving messages every year for US Thanksgiving holiday from business contacts outside of Canada.

I ordered two things from Amazon, one very expensive thing, and one cheap little $11 thing. They shipped them separately and the $11 item never arrived, so I requested a replacement and the ding dongs sent me both items.
It's a little tempting to keep the second expensive thing, but I'm just not that guy.
So now I have to return it, but do I get a Canada Post label which would be easy? No, I have to go to Purolator.

expecting people to think and act the same way you do , and most of all be courteous is your first mistake .. you set yourself up for that gear grinder

You can take the Purolator package to Staples to drop off. Not as easy as Canada Post; but not too bad.

Thirding the Purolator drop off. You don't even have to box it if it's already in a box.
Some Michaels' (weirdly) even have an automated Purolator machine that scans a code from your phone that Amazon generates, prints a sticky label for you, and you slap it on the box and throw it in a conveyor compartment.

My son caught on after a couple of days last week of the sandwich container coming home completely empty that his little guy was throwing out the sandwich at school. Usually the crusts were in the container. When asked why, he said he was tired of the lunch meat, but didn't bother to tell them, just began to throw out his sandwich! He is diabetic, so that answered the question of why he was having lows at school every day. I don't miss that whole lunch thing for sure.

I remember doing this as a kid/teen, and now as an adult I feel so bad about it. My Mom would spend a good amount of time/money to make me a nice lunch every day and I would throw half of it away (in my mind this was a better alternative than explaining why I didn't eat it).
Kids are strange (myself as a kid included). My son is only 2 years old right now, but I imagine he will do the same thing.

LOL.
After 20 some odd years of making my own lunch or blowing 10-20 bucks on lunch.... Having a couple ham and cheese, an apple and a sandwich bag full of carrot sticks lovingly slapped together for me and waiting at the front door when I leave in the morning is literally magic. Nothing goes to waste.
The only trade off we have is I have to do the grocery shopping. She frikking hates it. I pretend to hate it.... but I actually secretly love it. I was always fascinated by grocery baggers when I was a kid.

Guy parked in the bike lane on my way home. I give him a bit of a WTF look as I bike past. I look in my mirror, and he turns the hazard lights on. Gee, ya, that'll fix it. I forgot the flashers allow you to park anywhere rule.
Unrelated, but to the lady stopped at 16th ave, I'm not sure rubber banding your phone to the steering wheel really qualifies as hands free, but, uh, ok. Time to look up at the green light.

Wife also dislikes grocery shopping. It’s a source of stress and anxiety. Covid didn’t help. I don’t mind it much and if anything it’s a lot more interesting when you can drag your kid along and explore weird foods and hidden corners of the grocery store. Except Costco.

I wish people would stop abusing the #abstorm hashtag to post pictures of sunsets and chinooks. Yeah, they’re pretty, but they’re not storms.

Heh. It was a sonos soundbar, so probably would have been easy to flip. But it's on its way home now (or does Amazon just send these to a liquidator for pennies on the dollar?)
The nonchalant response from customer service was the most jarring part. Communication was through chat, so hard to gauge a sense of what the guy was thinking. But if I had to sum it up: "oh." Had they sent two of the Barry's tea it would have been more understandable.
Has me wondering how many times this happens. They must write off an absolute ton--not just returns and porch pirate stuff, but f-ups, fraud, etc. Years ago I accidentally ordered two of the same book, when I contacted customer service they refunded me one and told me to keep the second.
