True, but even with the team struggling..Flames are still ahead of Panthers, Canadiens, Blue Jackets in the standings. Those individual points matter less, than wins.
Comparing Calagry's team to Montreal and BJ's is silly, as those teams were never going to contend.
Montreal had a get a 1st round pick to take Monny, and he's outscoring Hubby.

Good for Monahan, but this is not a trend that seems likely to continue. It also doesn't change the fact that he no longer really had a place on the Flames roster. He needed to get moved; the Flames paid what was necessary to make it happen.

Huberdeau's advanced stats are very good. Out of forwards with 200 mins or more at ES he's 6th best in GA. He's been on the ice for 5 goals against. Monahan 17.
Scoring chances against, High dangers against are all looking good. Overall, they are good too, but he isn't creating as much as you would like
Should the NJ Devils be getting some props here? They made a play for both Johnny and Matthew, got neither, and now they’re beating everyone in the league.

Kind of strange how things work out sometimes…
They are probably better for it in the long run. Money to pay their young stars.

NJ is playing great, but there is a funny wrinkle when it comes to these historically long winning streaks—more often than not, these teams fail to make the playoffs.

the Devils have the best underlying numbers in the league, and it's not even close relative to second place.
They are simultaneously the #1 team in xGF and xGA, so they're not exactly riding a hot streak... they're kust out chancing their opponents . Last year they had poor goaltending but they corrected that.
Regardless of their headstart with the streak, they're executing at a Cup Favourite level. Maybe their PP cools off or something but they'll still a tough matchup all season.

True but they've had an easy schedule thus far. They'll make the playoffs and be a contender, but I don't think they'll be in the running for the Presidents Trophy come March/April.

easiest strength of schedule in the league is a factor in all these numbers...I wouldn't call them a cup contender just yet. Good shot at being a playoff team though.
Meanwhile Gaudreau is under PPG...I thought he would outscore Tkachuk for sure
to be fair though it is much easier to put up points in the Panthers system...style and line mates
I took the under on 99.5 with both, should be interesting
Florida's schedule couldn't have been much easier so far though...might get both still but Tkachuk surprisingly is more worrying at this point

Yeah, I had Gaudreau as being more productive than Tkachuk as well. Although, side note, I think if you mention schedule or strength of schedule 3 more times this forum self implodes and we lose Calgarypuck.
Seriously man, its absolutely bonkers how many times you've uttered those words this season.
