IMHO he’s been bad. He handles the puck like it’s a bouncy ball and provides nearly no offence. I know this isn’t his role, but I think he needs to chip in a little more than he has so far.

Maybe I just haven’t been paying close attention to other things like defensive details etc.
I just used my eye test over the last couple of games, but here are the advanced stats for Coleman, 5 on 5 among Forwards that played over 40mins:
Expected Goals - 49% - 8th
Corsi 58% - 4th
Fenwick 57% - 4th

It seems like he is definitely a top 9 forward, but his expected goals are not as good as I thought.

considering the heavy lifting he and Backlund usually do defensively, 49% for expected goal %age seems more than reasonable.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. Give that man the C already.

Lol lucic with kadri. I like lucic but he should be stapled to the 4th line.

I like that Sutter is keeping Ruzicka on the Lindholm line but the is a great opportunity to have Huberdeau play with Mangiapane and Kadri.

Also would like to see Dube with backlund and Coleman or put Dube on 4th line

The Lucic usage of late has me thinking Sutter is having trouble getting players to follow his system, so he's make a poster boy out of the ones that do.

Just a theory.

My theory would be that Sutter is trying to get Huberdeau to shoot more as sometimes his only other option would be to pass to Lucic.

Lucic doesn't even deserve to be in the lineup with how poor his defensive play is yet Sutter loves his pluggers. Tossing Huberdeau on the 3rd line I guess makes sense since he plays him bottom line minutes anyways.

Looks like a coach who is in panic mode with the blender.
Did you even watch the game? Because Lucic played on that line last night in the dominant 3rd. Also nothing is being blown up a guy came back from injury and being eased back into the lineup.

I thought Mangiapane played about 5 inches taller and was more aggressive with Lucic on his line.

Yup I was at the game and watched Lucic suck on the 4th line he throws a big hit and every thinks he's awesome like 2011 Lucic watch the rest of his shift. He stands around and is poor defensively as the advanced stats prove. Lucic isn't a nhl player he's only on the roster because of his contact. Not sure why Sutter continues to crater the team with his love of pluggers.

I'm sure he's easing Huberdeau back its been months since he's been out so he needs time to get going again LOL

Yep, Lucic is playing Sutter's checking game and acting like a human bowling ball into the corners and boards behind the net. It gave Bread some space and Lucic a few shot opportunities himself. He has hands of stone so nothing will usually happen but it's still a shot on net.

You must have been drinking a lot because Lucic wasn't on the fourth line in the second half of the game. He played a TON in the dominant third period where the Flames gave up nothing.

Wally was there!!
Ha ha
Don’t question it

Seriously
If Lucic was making 2M, this wouldn’t be a discussion
In a lot of ways knowing what these guys make is a bad thing

Yeah he was awful on the 4th line and got promoted up. Any team with Lucic in the top 6 is a lottery team.

Why do I feel like I know what James Neal is doing with all his newly found free time?
