They still got ####ed over...how can we not mention it?

Why should the Flames have to play by different rules? it effects their ability to compete no?

In no world should Brett Ritchie be playing 19 seconds less than Kadri and 2 seconds more than Toffoli.

With little special teams tonight Sutter just seemed to keep rolling 4 lines and didn’t let up

You can't convince me the islanders did not take one penalty that game. The goalie inference is called 99 out of 100 times. Should have been a gimme after not having a pp the entire game.

Same for not calling the trip on Kadri but then calling the hold on Rooney.

I wish there was another league to watch… one where they call games like the 80s and no game management BS…

I don't think he needs to. Blaming the refs when you give up 2 five on five goals in the 3rd is pretty weak. "100 percent on the refs" is a joke.

so we should go on getting 0 PPs no matter the situation and pretend that it doesn't play into the result?

if they got a couple PPs on the obvious calls but squandered them then it would be a different story

when part of the reason they went without a shot is from them gaining possession or getting odd man rushes from getting away with infractions and generating momentum, for sure you can look at the officials, it can be the difference imo

They've lost five in a row. At a certain point, it's not about the next game — it's about winning *this* one.

Playing the Lucic line as much as the Huberdeau line is ridiculous. Period.

Sportsnet, nice move the the quick exit to talk about McDavid. It’s like they couldn’t wait haha

And now here is David Amber saying that while earlier today on Mareks show he was saying that McDavid can become the 2nd greatest scorer of all time behind Gretzky.

I never thought he should have gotten the payday after what I thought to be a fluke offensive season last year. I don't think he gets back to the same numbers again. He's decent but not even a consistent 2nd liner.

exactly, if they called the penalty and the Flames blew the PP that would be different...they are competing with a handicap

I wouldn't look to TOI in a game with one PP in regulation and think that it's meaningful.

It can be both, no? The refs might have had a horrid night that clearly affected the result of the game, also the Flames played a poor 3rd period. Doesn't have to be either/or.

The refs didn't force the Flames to cough the puck up during those 10 minutes. I don't know why Andersson had to shove the Islander into the net there during OT and the refs also didn't force him to do that.

Gotta agree with this. 15:23 for Kadri. No forward over 17:11 (Backlund) and bottom 6 playing as much, if not more than, top 6. Don't think we want the 24 minutes like you know who up north but closer to 20 seems to make sense. In Sutter we trust??

Wouldn't it be less meaningful in a game with more penalties?

they are playing at a disadvantage when only the other club gets calls, and at the most key time in the game
