Every team in the league would have a list that looks like that going back the same amount of time.

That's maybe fair, but then we're asking if he should've been kept in a top 4 role when he was drowning in the bottom pair on a conference leading team

I was comparing them to ALL organizations because they all have lists like this, especially in the cap era
and you are totally putting the cart before the horse with Vali...he has had a few good games for a team that would rather lose than win this season
What did you want them to do? gift him ice time when he was playing terrible at the NHL and AHL level? Again he wasn't even one of the better Heat dmen.

The Coyotes seem to have figured out how to bring the best in Juuso, something the Flames clearly could not figure out how to do. His comments might shine some light on it.

The Flames list is probably much longer, I only listed the names I could think of off the top of my head.
There are probably teams with shorter lists than the Flames.

lol yeah, we don't ####ing care if we win or not...he has been okay for two weeks, seriously he didn't become Bobby Orr and he still wouldn't be in the Flames top six. That chart posted here to show how great he is doing had Stone and Zadorov well above him.
"probably much longer" good argument
Truth is you follow the Flames so you know the names off the top of your head

You said the Flames list is longer than other teams without any real research into the matter.
Kadri, Lindholm, and Hyman are far better than anyone recent the Flames have lost in recent years. Just off the top of my head.
People were making threads like this about Neal and Joe Colborne too a few games into the season

Well if we're looking at players like that you could just as easily say Tkachuk, Dougie, and Gaudreau

"lost for nothing"
Gaudreau is the only example that even fits
Flames have Lindholm and Hanifin
Canes have?

The Canes had three years of Dougie as they were in their contention window. They also have the prospects they traded Fox for now.

Prospects who may never play...and they didn't win anything
Flames obviously won that one in a landslide
Flames got "prospects" for Iginla too if we are going there

Frankly, if the trade was the other way around you'd be saying the Flames won it, too. Dougie was a top-5 defenceman when he was in Carolina. That was an extremely good acquisition for them.
The Flames have had significantly less success than the Hurricanes since that trade.

The only way this trend turns around is if the organization starts doing things better. I believe they have been on a better trajectory in recent years under Tre's watch, so I'm optimistic. But it's nevertheless unfortunate to see yet another player struggle as a Flame and then suddenly do well with another team.

At least give them the cup final (actually a win)
I think we need more than 2 weeks to see if Valimaki is really doing well. Joe Colborne had a hatty his first game away from the Flames. Neal was leading the NHL in goals 2 months in...just think you are getting ahead of yourself to push this negative narrative.
Yotes have a terrible team, that is why he gets ice time there. 31 other teams deemed him not worthy of an NHL roster spot...that is a fact.

frankly this is not true at all....Flames have two massive assets and the Canes have nothing and didn't win a damn thing.
Flames are winning this trade tree at the moment and its not even close
Like are you kidding? Hanifin had more points last year than Dougie ever did in Carolina and Lindholm had 82 and was #2 in Selke voting

That trade was a win-win for both teams. Both teams got what they wanted out of it, and would have been worse off if they hadn't made it.

Time will indeed tell.
Don't the Yotes get first dibs on waiver players or am I mistaken?

lol never mind pointless in arguing with takes like these
I don't think its even debatable that the Flames won the Hamilton trade...part of the reason they traded him is because they knew he was chasing a massive UFA deal, which he did
Hanifin had a better year last year statistically than Hamilton's best in Carolina not to mention Lindholm. Both Lindholm and Hanifin are on great contracts and still with the Flames so I don't even see a debate. Maybe if the Canes won a cup in the meantime but they didn't.
Even then you can't just compare team results...with that logic the the Flames were winners losing Gaudreau because they are better than CBJ

So when teams chose not to try to claim him, they didn't know Arizona was claiming him?
